Feebs is right, you can question Amirs chin but not his heart. Don't see what he has to do with this topic though

Bloody hell, Khan looks about 4 divisions bigger than Pac in that pic. Pac must be on his 'off season' there.

Seriously though, pics like that bring it back home how crazy it is that pac is beating elite welterweights. It's really nuts, the guys frame should really limit him to 130 tops. I remember saying when he first moved THERE he was far too small for the division.

I saw a video the other day when Roach was talking about how much of a risk it was preparing to fight the much bigger Barrera, kinda crazy when you consider what's gone on since

And it was true. Pac really is every inch Henry Armstrong's equal in the 'making weight classes seem totally irrelevant' stakes. It's just too easy to get blaze about exactly how freakish what he's done is.

I just wish it wasn't tainted like it appears to be.

No mention, I notice, of one of my favourites in this regard --- Maxie Rosenbloom. Cat just fought everyone out there, & hardly stopped doing it. I think this thread favours the old-timers unfairly, in the same way a thread about who's won the most individual belts in history would favour contemporary fighters unfairly. More belts now means more titles, just as less money back then equates to more fights. Anyway, I wanted to inject Rosenbloom's name into the discussion.

Someone, I think CDogg, mentioned Emile Griffith, & rightly so. Griffith is a better shout than any name anyone else has thrown out so far --- including Ali.

Others --- Just marvel at some of the names on their resumes. It's simply awe-inspiring...

Archie Moore (Maybe...maybe the best ever, in this regard. Charles is one who competes very well in this regard, too)

    Ali
    Baker
    Bivins
    Charles (3x)
    Cotton
    Durelle (2x)
    Johnson (4x)
    Lytell
    Marciano
    Maxim (3x)
    Olson
    Pastrano

Gene Fullmer (One tough nut...a, "Cyclone" made from bricks & mortar. Tough enough to eat nails & ask for seconds)

    Basilio (2x)
    Giardello
    Paret
    Robinson (4x)
    Tiger (3x)
    Webb (2x)

Ezzard Charles (Fought Hall Of Famers like they were going out of style. Unreal. A top-five all-time resume in history, it cannot be over-stated)

    Bivins (4x)
    Burley (2x)
    Johnson
    Lesnevich
    Louis
    Marciano (2x)
    Marshall (3x)
    Maxim (4x)
    Moore (3x)
    Overlin (2x)
    Walcott (4x)
    Yarosz

Oscar De La Hoya (Unique, in that he had all the cash old-timers didn't, but never stopped chasing the big game)

    Chavez (2x)
    Hopkins
    Mayweather
    Mosley (2x)
    Pacquiao
    Trinidad
    Vargas
    Whitaker

Roberto Duran (Grim, uncompromising, & bitterly savage)

    Barkley
    Benitez
    Buchanan
    Camacho
    Cuevas
    DeJesus (3x)
    Hagler
    Hearns
    Leonard (3x)

not so impressive when you consider he retired after every fight he had. you've called ODH opportunistic - what does that make SRL? Mr., "if there's not a guy out there I can beat and make a bunch of money doing it, I'll retire?"

Not true, but don't let that stop you from yapping about it.

What's awesomely stupid is that you are trying to make it sound like he was "cherry picking" fights with Duran, Hearns, Hagler and Benitez because they were EASY opponents.:bangh:

Nothing but hate from you here...as usual.

agREED. I am the Heavyweight Champion of Leonard haters, but I never allow that to alter my perception of how great of a fighter he was.
