I'm sure you think Forrest could beat him again too, right?

i like mma, but i'd take floyd vs pac over any ufc fight. even if brock vs. fedor was somehow materialized, i'd still watch floyd vs. pac instead.

in terms of excitement, i'm sure shogun vs. silva could be more fun to watch, but significance alone would be too much of a factor in chosing floyd vs. pac.

    Exactly the way I feel.

Let's be honest, even if Pac-Mayweather ended up being a borefest, it is still a "must see" event.

Shogun had a torn ACL going into that fight and everybody that doesn't have there head in the sand know's it.I can promise you that the outcome will be very different.

That is relevant how? Griffen has been destroyed, mentally.

That doesn't change the fact that Forrest beat him so easily that he was able to choke him out at will as the fight was ending.

I think Brock and Carwin is a cool fight. The UFC heavyweight division is actually exciting... I'd say right now, it's the best division in any MMA organization.

Yeah, that's a good fight. I think the winner of that fight against Cain Velasquez is a fairly nice fight too, on paper at least.
It's a better period for the heavyweight division since Tim Sylvia was wearing the belt, that's for sure. LOL!

Yeah, I think Griffin was the last person in the world who should've been able to beat Shogun. It was a very bad loss.
It would be like Tyson losing to McNeely. It's something that just should not have happened.
And it'll be a black mark forever on Shogun's resume. To be choked out by Forrest Griffin of all people. If he lost to somebody else, cool. But Forrest Griffin? No way!

I would agree with you IF Forest followed up his win against Shogun by getting blown out by Rampage. But he didn't. He won the LHW title.

The Silva loss has distorted people's opinion of Forest. It's ashame that a career built on heart, courage and hard work gets shot to hell with one blowout. Oh well.

It just dawned on me, but remember your comment the other day about Pride being up 1-0 after Shogun beat Machida. I think you forgot that Griffin douched a couple of Pride vets in back-to-back wins. That's almost criminal that a TUF winner like Griffin ran through the pride of Pride. Funny.

Griffen was in the right place at the right time.

Sorry to disagree, but Forrest's style always gives shogun trouble. I hope they rematch, Forrest might win again.

I agree with you. The knee problem hindered Shogun but it's not the only reason he lost. His conditioning was shit and he wasn't prepared for a war. On top of that, Griffin is a strong 205 pounder and he was able to move Rua around.

That version of Forrest would always give Shogun problems.

Considering what Forrest did to him, that's not an unreasonable statement at all.

Maybe your head was in the sand when they actually fought.

It is obvious that Shogun just came off of a major MCL surgery and was barely 50% in that fight. Cardio was effected for the fight as well from an inability to train properly. Shogun easily beats Forrest in a Re.
