Let's not assume anything here. I live in the present and brock is nothing at this point.

Terrible fight, and neither of these fighters belong anywhere near a title shot.

I have a hard time believing someone can't dig up two better heavyweights then these to put in a title eliminator.

I don't know who will win, but I can tell you who will lose, and that is anyone who watches this garbage matchup.

Agreed. This fight is unnecessary and I wouldn't be surprised - if this fight comes off and the winner becomes the mandatory - if Klitschko fights in a "unification" bout and then just assumes the other title and relinquishes the IBF...or simply drops the IBF title and carries the IBO.

I'm sure that's what HBO would prefer, and they might give him an incentive to do that.

Byrd versus Brock is a great fight. But both of these guys need the protection of other cooler heads not to cause serious injury to themselves. Basically Brock and Byrd were brutally Ko'ed and could easily get seriously injured fighting Dr iron fist. I would be suprised if these guys did not sustain serious injury in their fights with Dr Iron Fist. Brock particularly was brutally raped and should think twice about fighting in the upper echeleons of the division after the beating he sustained.

He is a good fighter and has done a lot with what he has.

I think Byrd might be the worse for wear of the two. He's taken two beatings from Klitschko, and for a more slightly built fighter (who put on some loose weight to compete at heavyweight) he's slowed down considerably in recent fights and has taken a lot more punishment because of it. Plus, Byrd hasn't been very active the past few years.

Brock really shouldn't be that badly damaged - physically at least, though it wouldn't surprise me if he was mentally - by the Klitschko KO because he didn't take that much punishment until rounds 5-7. It is possible, though, because he did get hit with some devastating punches once Klitschko got past the early rounds and Brock took the full impact of a few punches that were absolutely brutal. I think might have also lost confidence. I've noticed he's been weighing more in recent fights...not necessarily a good sign for a fighter not exactly known as an Adonis in the past after a devastatng knockout loss. I know he did get dropped his last fight, though he still won a decision.

Either way, neither guy should be fighting in an eliminator at this point.
