As we Type, Calzaghe's Better...But When he's Done Fighting, Ward will Be Considered Better, by a Sizable Margin, in REED's Opinion...Ward's RESUME is ALREADY Better, he just Needs to Show the Year to Year CONSISTENCY that Calzaghe Did... REED:hammert:
What makes you say Ward is better than Jones? Also, is he better than Calzaghe? If so may I cordially invite you to participate in the thread poll :bears: (if not, forget I asked)
I dislike both fighters...Calazaghe because he didn't fight anyone worth a damn until the end of his or their careers....and Ward though good...isn't as good as some people make him out to be. He has beaten everyone he has face with room to spare...but I still not feeling him. no homo..
Ward can only do damage if he gets on the inside and headbuts and elbows his way to a dirty victory. Calzaghe would never let him get that close. Too good on his feet.
Too many holes to equal Chavez's accomplishments, but he wouldn't go 0 for 10 against Chavez, either. Gamboa is probably better than Randall or Taylor.
Chavez would beat Gamboa 11 out of 10 times...Chavez might lose a few rounds..but he will win all the fights...
I'm not voting because I think Reed is correct in #36. Jones, at his best, is arguably the best ever, but Ward's resume is already closing in on Roy's, at least at the top. Roy has a huge 2nd tier in his resume that he went through for about a decade so there's a lot left for Ward. The main difference between them is that Ward will give himself a chance to be viewed as better than Roy. Roy was a cherry picking avoider. Ward isn't. Because Ward isn't, I think Ward will probably lose to a 1st tier opponent in Ward's prime. However, if Ward could take Roy's place in every one of Roy's fights, he's probably have the same record.
Yes, but it's not a lock. I thought Ruiz would beat Jones, but the talent gap was too much. A similar talent gap would exist between Ruiz and Ward. Ward fights a lot different than Jones so it's not evident to me that the same result would occur, but I'm guessing it would.
Ward likes to fight and maul inside. Jones was WAY faster. I don't think Ward would do well at heavyweight.
Seriously I can't see a dude with Gamboa's chin and lack of intelligence even going the distance more than 5 out of 10 against Chavez, much less winning any of them Let's not forget that we are also talking 130 here... Randall is eons later at 140 when the guy was clearly slipping... and, still, Randall was a good fighter
