People shit on the undercard because none of the fights were any better than your standard ESPN2 filler. Zab-Ernest Johnson was no better than on the level of Zab-Edwin Vazquez. Salita-Campos is a Broadway Boxing main event at best.

I'm probably in the minority, but I didn't mind Gato getting an u/c slot, for the fact that he's always willing to fight whomever, and whose career has been stalled only due to former "promoters" doing anything other than looking out for his best interests. But no doubt, the fight itself turned out to be no more memorable than a 40 degree day.

One of the biggest mismatched PPV's in history, fails? WOW! That they wasted the cash to 24/7 this rubbish and still failed might mean changes into the future.

The least they could have done is stacked the undercard with something other than what we saw; the worst in years.

Kery Davis is playing dumb for the moment (though I suspect he'd be more willing to open up to Tim Smith or Dan Rafael, both of whom are down here), but said that whatever the final number turns out to be, he doesn't believe he'll have good news to share. I joked back "or money", at which point he walked away

Well, the pay per view market has pushed people in that direction.

I had no problem putting down money on a pay per view card if it was for 2 1/2 to 3 hours of boxing I actually wanted to see.

But $50 for a main event I can see a week later on television, or perhaps watch live on the internet, with some undercard fights I wouldn't walk across the street to watch in person isn't exactly a reason for me to reach into my wallet...or invite friends over.

But my decision to order a pay per view really isn't based on whether I can watch the fights on the internet.

Television is still much preferred over the internet, as far as I'm concerned, and I curtailed my ppv spending long before I started watching ppv's online...and I still order ppv's I deem to be "worth the money".

This is part of the reason why I actually like it when HBO and Showtime have fights on the same nights...taken as a whole, the two basically act as a pay per view card.

I missed the undercard. Does the above post mean it was the best undercard ever? I am confused.

:nono: You weren't supposed to concerntrate on unappealing match-ups, you, like all white Americans, were supposed to hold Calzaghe's skin in the highest regard, and fork out cash to serve your inner primitive needs to see a member of your race, beat up a member of a different race. Us verses them brother, you dont feel that?.. is there something wrong with you, or is there something wrong with American journalists who make it clear that even though they aren't racist and can prove it by bashing European fighters on a weekly basis, most other white people definitely are, it's just not them, they are special, are you that rare breed of special too?
