Im not sure most viewers really pay enough attention for that to work. Most people are just gonna see his name and think 'that got splattered in May, he's finished/a bum'

Maybe not. It could just as possibly end with one shot.

i'm saying it is very possible that was part of the deal. "khan, you get in here and help us make canelo look good, and we will guarantee you a main event on hbo against scrub jamison."

Canelo will weigh 185 pounds on fight night.

    This is inexcusable.

Nobody will care about Khan losing to Canelo. Even with the loss to Canelo people will still want to see him fight Brook.

Canelo isn't the type to walk you down and punish you. He will still box and time Amir , khan will live to fight another day

Perhaps, i just don't think it would be necessary to get any kind of extra commitment of that type from Khan.

    This is a lousy fight.

As I've said many times before, I don't like Khan for his god-awful style and I can't stand the way a lot of people overrate his skills just because he has speed. But this matchup doesn't make me happy and I won't really enjoy watching Khan lose to a middleweight. I want to see Khan get stopped again...by someone his own size, not Canelo.

He may lose his consciousness. And even while being a big underdog, there's always something to lose on both the physical and mental aspect of the sport when you get splattered. Even by a guy 2 divisions above you.

The real question is Khan's chin better than Kirkland's.

it is really starting to come into relief that canelo is a bully weight cheat who is deftly afraid of ggg.

This is SUCH a Mismatch, Canelo Should Be EMBARRASSED if it Lasts 3 Full Rounds...Should Be a Highlight Reel KO...

Agreed. For everybody claiming Khan is cashing out it seems also like Canelo is sort of doing the same because his team figured he can only avoid GGG for so long. May as well get in one easy one first appears to be the line of thinking.

Make 6 figures in what on paper should be an easy win (and knockout), and then use that performance to hype up the next big payday against Golovkin. In the mean time they hope triple G loses or gets hit by a bus.

I think it's more De La Hoya that's scared than Canelo though. DLH wants to milk his ginger Mexican sweetheart as much as possible.

Agreed. I don't think Canelo is scared of GGG, but his team (rightly imo) are.

Khan deserves major props for taking this fight. Canelo is a massive pussy though. I hope Khan gets credit if he pulls out the win.

You have it all wrong. This is Oscar getting canelo a stay busy fight until then fall when he and GGG are scheduled to fight. It's also payback to Khan for leaving Golden Boy for Haymon.

    Oscar wins both ways.

GGG fanboys need to chill the fuck out. Both guys were slated to have a fight prior to the september date.

I wonder on which world Khan skills is getting overrated? Here, pretty much anyone knows he has major flaws, and that he has poor skills.

True, and Team Canelo OPENLY Flirted w/Fighting Tim Bradley, Until Pacquiao Stole Him Away...Still, Even in an OBVIOUS "Gimme Fight" Scenario, they Could've Done BETTER than Amir Khan, Who's NEVER Fought above '47 and has Been ULTRA Chinny @ EVERY Weight he's Competed @...

Were K9 Bundrage or Ishe Smith OCCUPIED???...They'd ALSO Be Very Easy Wins & @ Least They're Jr. Middles...

Shameful matchup, I won't even give credit to Khan before I see his performance. This could very well be a run to the bank for him, where he'll lay down without taking too much punishment and blame (rightfully) the weight difference. I won't even blame Canelo, he fought a lot of tough opponents so far in his you career and deserves a gimme. What really pisses me off is that it blocks meaningful at WW involving Khan.

All it takes is for him to last a few rounds, land a handful of meaningless punches before getting slept and somebody, somewhere, will find a way to takeaway that he did well in the fight.

State of boxing these days require a full 2-3 years of mismatches for both guys before the promoters cash out.

Pretty much. Now imagine if Khan was undefeated.

    He never takes this fight.
