Khan was looking for a cash out. It's been nearly 4 years since he faced a puncher

He didn't know Danny Gift had pop in the left hook. If he did, he might not have taken that fight either.

I dunno why. The fight played out as expected. Khan won the early rounds as the plodding Ginger found his range. We coulda seen that coming. But as soon as the Ginger landed big, it was goodbye. We coulda seen that coming as well.

    Khan was "Incredibly Brave".....

"But just because you told Khan so, there is no need for triumphalism. What Khan did in Las Vegas on Saturday was brave beyond belief and should not be sneered at. If only there were more like him, boxing would be all the brighter.

What fight two of the three judges were watching is anyone's guess. One, Glenn Feldman, had the champion 3-2 ahead and another, Glenn Trowbridge, 4-1 ahead when the hammer of Thor brought proceedings to a sudden conclusion. Just about everyone in press row had Khan at least three rounds up.
Maybe the knockout was for the best: had Khan boxed Alvarez's head off for 12 rounds and lost the decision, the pain would have been even worse.
There will be plenty of pain for Khan, and not just physical. Having spent the past two years being teased into thinking he was going to fight first Floyd Mayweather, then Manny Pacquiao, and consequently wishing some of the best years of his career away, this was maybe Khan's last pitch for greatness.

The good news for Khan, and British fight fans, is he can walk straight into a match with Kell Brook, the IBF welterweight champion and his bitter cross-Pennine rival.

For several years, Khan has claimed Brook is not at his level. But that argument becomes more difficult to sustain when there are pictures flying around the world of him flat on his back having been knocked cold for a third time."

Brook-Khan has lost luster. Everyone knows Brook would beat him.

Really think he needs to pack it in. His bravery is gonna cause something serious one day.

Khan is like a badly programmed video game boxer, he always seems to fall the exact same way.

Yep......and I think the reason he falls that way is because he keeps getting hit with the same sort of punch.

If Brook is in fact fighting Vargas next, then it's a much bigger test than Khan.

What in the living FUCK has Khan done lately? He's PURELY a name at this point.

As opposed to Vargas, who's in his prime, can take a shot, and has shown in his last two fights some deceptive pop in the right hand.

    Khan's prime was 2011.

I wanna blame it on his low intelligence, and yeah, that has something to do with it. But it mainly comes down to his lack of defensive reflexes. He has fast hands, but he simple CANNOT for the life of him see punches coming.

People underestimate how much of a natural talent that is. Khan never had it.

Following up on that, it's always been a tard theory to believe Khan could have troubled Floyd. The thinking is "He's so fast, Floyd might have problems".

Yeaaa... okay. A guy who Chris Algeri hit with every right hand he threw, yet he's somehow gonna trouble Floyd... makes perfect sense...

Floyd would have nailed Khan with right leads blind folded. It woulda been a massacre.

To crossover from the Foremanism thread, Khan has a long neck and a long wide jaw. A hook on the side of his head seems perfect to knock him out. His neck can't absorb the force and his big jaw is like weight to help rock his head around.
