The reason that landed was because Saunders had employed a tactic of bending over to allow the "Longer" uppercuts to sail over him.

Canelo definitely made an adjustment.

R1: Canelo 10-9, clear. Saunders flicking the jab out and trying to look slick but it's Canelo who's actually landing things of meaning. I take the three of four heavy shots Canelo landed over the 40 jabs that Saunders missed.

R2: Canelo 10-9, clear. Same again, heavier shots that land clean over pitty-patters that don't. Billy's defence is pretty good here though.

R3: Canelo 10-9, clear. Canelo's really finding that cross and working the body. Saunders looks like a twat with that footwork.

R4: Canelo 10-9, clear. Massive uppercut, good straights and body work was notable from Canelo, whereas there was nothing notable from Saunders. I can't believe the commentators even considered close, let alone a Saunders round.

R5: Saunders 10-9, clear. Billy's best round by far, he actually landed decent punches, landed his jabs and boxed properly. Canelo still got in with heavier shots, just not as often.

R6: Canelo 10-9, clear. Saunders taunting and goading Canelo, while taking punches bigger than he's capable of throwing. And he's not even jabbing now. Although I did miss a minute of it due to talking to my dad.

R7: Canelo 10-9, clear. Again, just cleaner punching. Substance over style. I'm not impressed by jabs that miss and funny faces.

R8: Canelo 10-9, clear. An uppercut caved in half of Saunders' face and then Canelo spent the rest of the round beating the fuck outta Saunders.

• Mora is a fucking retard, trying to paint Saunders as a big puncher.

• Canelo's uppercuts are brilliant, and so is the way he can feint and throw with one hand, and also shift in to get power on it as well.

 

And he his brain wasn't smashed. 8 rounds and no brain smashed. He came all that way and no brain smash. We're lucky he stuck at it. I'd have quit sooner, myself.

Have them fight 100 times and there are very few outcomes where Blowjob does not end up in the hospital. Maybe the other eye, maybe the jaw, maybe just straight brained.. Canelo was throwing that shot all night and landed a couple prior albeit not so sweet as the last. Not remotely ‘lucky’ as your post implies.
