I knew you would bring Roy into this - but it's hardly the same thing. You can't compare a fighter who dominated the sport for over a decade to a guy who had a good three year run. I never ever said Kov was the same fighter who beat Cleverly... that version of Kov would have thrashed Canelo. But I don't think Kov, given his weaknesses, stacks up well to the greats of 175. That's all I'm saying.
Kovalev's career is weird, it was a really sharp decline after he was robbed against Ward. The old cliche is the power is the last thing to go, but it seemed to be the first thing with him.
Kov doesn't want Beterbiev. Would've gotten little credit for beating Canelo. Thus he agreed to a sparring session ending in a phony knockout.
Beterbiev would be too strong for Kov. And he’d batter Canelo even if he was on all the PEDs in the world. I think Canelo will hang around 168 and cherry pick until a rematch with ancient Golovkin is made. He ain’t going back to 160.
Beterbiev is pretty sucky like derevyanchenko and usyk at heavyweight But Saturday's fight proved Stevenson would've kod kovalev, if he hadn't shamelessly ducked him for years
Beterbiev would fuck Canelo up. And don't think for a second Ginger is taking that fight... Beterbiev isn't shot yet. I think Bivol would outbox Canelo, but Bivol has no killer instinct, therefore Canelo would win a bullshit decision. I don't think Canelo stays at 175. My prediction is that drops back to 168 and fights Callum Smith. Which wouldn't be a bad matchup... at least Smith is in his prime.
Alvarez is gonna go back to 168 and fight guys moving up from 160 there. Golovkin will have to move up to get the third fight
Canelo will stop Golov this time. The Technician clearly hurt Golovkin several times to the body. His punch resistance seems to be waning.
Too many high profile pieces of shit are killing the sports true reputation. By "true reputation" i mean the reputation it has, or should have, with hardcore fans. I think a lot of the old timers must be looking at this thinking "Why'd I bust my ass for £40k back in the day........" KSI and Logan Paul making millions, Canelo basically doing an inverse Fox vs LaMotta and then Pat Day getting killed in the ring. Very hard to be fan. Very hard.
Only an idiot like you think that Stevenson ducked Kovalev, considering that he's the one that withdrew from the purse bid for a fight And yes Usyk is a scrub at HW. He's going absolutely nowhere. And this is coming from a semi Usyk fan
With some of these guys, it’s becoming blatantly obvious. Any true aficionado of the sport is gonna notice it.
I blame Mr Golden Shower Delahoya entirely. The guy seems to be a dangerous combination of stupidity, cheating and ego. Dana White takes it even further - Dana White calls De La Hoya a 'scumbag, liar and complete moron' in explosive rant
Remember after the Mosley rematch, when Oscar vowed to launch an investigation into the corruption in boxing? LOL
Hilarious that people once thought the corruption would end once King and Arum had died. Well, after those geezers go, we'll be left with Fast Eddie and Oscar... yeaaa.... corruption is here to stay.
I used to read stories about people like Sal Mineo, how he was this untouchable boy star, in loads of great movies, skys the limit and winds up being cast out of Hollywood and is sort of launching a comeback when he gets knifed in an alley over a pizza or something. I really hope that Oscar can be the Sal Mineo of the 21st Century. A former untouchable Golden Boy who gets gradually exposed as a sniff-happy Tranny, and is murdered by some protege he tries to screw over, is found dead with a zucchini up his ass or something. "He Died Happy" would be the headlines. But then there would be a shocking plot twist. He could be found in a really suggestive pose.......like it was suicide, and a dodgy suicide note that nobody believes because it has the words........"I actually lost all those big fights"....case gets investigated by a Gary Busey or Nick Nolte character...all wacky and boozy, messes the case up and Canelo gets indicted because they found traces of Clen on the zucchini.
Either my grandfather or my uncle joe once arrested Sal Mineo along with a bunch of other homosexuals for doing stuff on public property at night they weren't supposed to be doing My mother told me she remembers arguing with them that they had to be mistaken "Sal Mineo's not gay, dad! There's no way" and grandpa insisting "that young man is homosexual" Of course this was an era when people thought guys like Tab Hunter, Cesar Romero, Van Cliburn, etc were straight
He was the perfect twink, and women used to hire him to bring them around with him, once he lost the boyish looks he started to look like a washed up feygele. While he was young he just passed for a boyish lad, but ageing is cruel. He did the right thing by staying out on the West Coast, he'd a got moidered in NYC far faster. In fact there was some douchebag in the mob who beat a tranny to death for propositioning him, this was like the early 1980's, never mind the 50's. The guy wound up shooting dead an undercover cop. Tony Danza played him in a TV movie. Here is a picture of the Cop he killed. And this is where Canelo comes into it.
