Mayorga lost to Spinks... Would Forrest?

    That's a styles thing

(besides, Vernon won the rematch anyway)

Exactly. Floyd nut lickers get so offended at the thought of ANYBODY beating Floyd. Nobody's saying Forrest is better than Floyd. He wasn't. But he had the style to beat Floyd. Forrest wasn't a better fighter than Mosley either, but he clearly had a style Shane couldn't handle. GRANTED, Floyd's IQ is miles above Shane's.

It does not matter what a fighter did against a common opponent.

The only thing that matters is what happens in the ring that night of the actual fight.

Floyd wouldn't even fight Vernon Forrest, I'll put it that way.

I couldn't stand Forrest, had no use for him at all, and I am a Mayweather fan, but he was way too good and big for Floyd at his peak.

Big as far as knowing how to use his reach and legs in a fight, he'd have kept a punch in Floyd's face for as long as the fight would have lasted.

I guess I'm just not seeing what you guys see. To me Forrest was a pretty meat and potatoes guy with a good jab. I think Floyd would figure him out. Not easily, but well enough to get the W. Just because Shane was fast and Forrest had the right style to neutralize Shane.....you know:dunno:

I brought it up because of xplosive's post

Aside from that, Forrest was a 1-2 / clinch type of fighter for a lot of his career. I don't see anything from him that makes me think he could beat Floyd.. his size and jab would trouble Floyd, but Floyd would figure him out and get the decision.
