I would have a different opinion if this were a P4P matchup (which I'm glad it isn't since I hate those). But straight up at 135, I have to go with Castillo - who would be at his peak - over a still-elite but subtly declining version of Marquez. Decision win, somewhere in the ballpark of 116-112.

Chavez was better than Castillo. Titles in three weight classes, dominant wins in many of his important fights, and losses only at the tail end of his career.

Chavez/Martinez was a competitive though. As was Chavez/Laporte. As was Chavez/Lockridge. As was Chavez/Taylor.

how many rounds did Martinez win?

agree on the others, all really good fighters as well

Castillo wins a 7-5, 8-4 type decision in a rough fight.

Chavez-Lockridge was not all that close, BTW.

agREED. I would put Castillo on the level of Ramirez or Mancini, which isn't a bad place to be. But definitely not on the same level as Chavez.

This would be a good fight, but I like Castillo on points

Floyd did not win the Castillo rematch easy.

    Chavez/Lockridge was 8-4 at best

    Mayweather/Castillo was similiarly 8-4

    neither were close
