I am getting pissed off with Hatton's style Double, but you have to give him some credit.

He's for real, and he's a strong, tough, fast, determined little bastard who can punch harder than he is given credit for here.

Hatton held a bit too much on saturday, that's a fact.

Hatton won every round and legitimately took Castillo out with 1 punch, that's also a fact.

Upon rewatching the fight, hatton held a bit less than I thought when watching a live stream, and castillo didn't look "shot" either. Castillo is probably past his best sure, but he is notoriously a slow starter, and I think it's jumping the gun to say he is shot.

He sure as hell didn't look shot KOing Corrales in the rematch, and it's not like he's been in grueling wars or aged substantially since then.

i've never been a fan of Castillo and never cheered for him once

    BUT

I've seen Castillo fight so many times before

and it WAS SAD to see how badly he had regressed in there...hatton was hurting him with slaps and his legs were so damn weak he looked like he was falling over every time

    it was pathetic in there

imagine if the roles were reversed

and young castillo against a weak and slow hatton....fuck man..fight would have lasted 2 rounds tops

Hatton was always going to be too fast. To be honest, the combination of speed and strength from Hatton simply threw Castillo off. He was used to being outsped, but not outbrawled. When he got both against him, he looked lost.

With his financial situation, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Castillo back in there pretty soon, bowling lesser fighters over. Then how shot will we say he is??:nono: :nono:

Idiot. Castillo was in with the strongest, most aggressive, and fastest starting fighter he's been in with.

Has it not crossed your mind that might have contributed to his apparent "shotness"?

If Joe Calzaghe was in there and did that to Roy Jones, DC Pizza would be here telling you how Roy was NOT SHOT but that Joe just made him look that bad.

Hatton would have beaten any version of Castillo IMO.

I agree, Hatton isn't the second coming but he is brutal at 140. Just too much for those guys to handle. Castillo has made a career out of fighting smaller guys. He has always looked bigger than his opponents. He just wasn't ready for the bigger punches coming from Hatton. Hatton needs to clean 140 out. Juan Diaz should do the same at 135 and they could set up a huge fight in 2008. Hatton has always said he'll never fight Witter, with enough zero's in the payday, he'll fight him.

i call it like i see it

a win is a win but if you idiots think hatton beat some prime version of castillo then you got it all wrong

he beat a washed up version who at this point is barely better then your average fringe contender

Well...Castillo had 4 or more losses before he struggled with Stevie Johnston. Was that the "Prime Castillo"???

    Castillo was not shot.

Like I said, he'll be back fighting lesser guys up at 147 before long, bowling them over.

Before this fight did you think Castillo was shot? Not just past his best, but "shot to hell"?

Half of the boxing press had Castillo as the winner.

Now all of a sudden, he's "Shot"

    Go figga.

i did use strong language..the way you talk to your buddy in a bar when your arguing about stuff

    now in a fair way

I felt Castillo was past his best coming into the fight...but after the first first round...he was even worse then when i had seen him before

so hatton deserves credit for beating a better then average fighter....so its still a good win...hatton faced tougher guys before castillo though

Does it bother you alot that Hatton would have beaten Gatti to death?

Agreed. I question whether Gatti could have even beaten Lazcano.

Gatti knocked out a guy who beat Lazcano's ass real clear.

No doubt, but a lot of people go overboard with how bad Gatti is. As average as he is/was, I think He'd have knocked Lazcano out. Which is something Vivian Harris would have done, if he wasn't so mediocre.

I agree totally. I was wrong and I had to see the fight to realise this.

Hatton will beat Castillo everyday of the week and twice on Sunday.

Lejia was totally shot when Gatti beat him. He only beat Bojado cause Panchito was a lazy fat ass who managed to pull a huge choke job! I'd have given Lazcano an excellent chance at beating Gatti.
