Chambers/Wlad...

The only sad thing about Vlad is,I feel he can honestly knock any HW & pretty much any person the Fuck Out! It's a shame that ever since his loss to Brewster,Steward has turned him into nothing but a defensive machine. Which technically, is good. But makes for boring fights. It wasn't the Sanders loss that turned Vlad into the defensive fighter we see today. But Brewster,cause Vlad just totally gassed himself out and is scared to do it again ever since that fight.

I think Vlad can pretty much knock out anybody in the first 2 rounds,if not 6 rounds at the most. If only he would just open up more:doh:

 

The problem is, that theory has been proven wrong. You said so yourself Octopus- He has tried to K.O guys early & paid for it.

He can pace himself & still win rounds, so he won't risk it.

Later in the fight, he may go for it, if he feels that he's definately got enough gas in the tank & the other guys spent.

I don't think he trusts his stamina or chin, & he has good empirical evidence to support that.

 

Rather than run from the Klitschkos' greatness, HBO and company should be playing them up as the most dominant heavies of all time. HBO fricking licks relatively shit fighters and they have these guys and they ignore them.
Hype hype hype and when they eventually lose you have a financial windfall for the rematch and/or brother revenge match.
But no, let's just cut on the heavyweight division and piss everything up.

 

why should they ??? The Klitshko's draws awful rating in the US from my information, and their fights are boring as fuck so they won't gain a big fanbase. Sure, I'd like for every title fight, especially hw one, to be on tv, but considering HBO current tight boxing budget, it's far better for the fans that HBO didn't showed last night crap or pretty much any recent Wlad fight

 

Because HBO already tried that shit, but everytime they put Wlad on tv he pecks his way to a boring decision win and refuses to take any chances.

I don't care how much bullshit you shovel you can't convince people a fight or fighter is entertaining when it's clear as fucking day that he is not. That is the exact reason why HBO did not televise this fight. Because Wlad has routeinly stunk up the joint and probably would have done more harm then good to anyone that decided to watch.

 

Boring is subjective,.. his problem is, not that he doesn't engage, but the monotony of his offense,.. I'm trying to find another example, of a fighter with such a high KO ratio, going down in history as excrutiatingly boring,.. but I can't think of any, it may be an 'unprecedented' reputation given the amount of stoppage wins he possesses, I can however, empathise, with the immense frustration, when the hated fighter, dominates so exceedingly long in fights, while the viewer is only focusing on the desperate hope that the opponent lands something and knocks him out,... under those circumstances, I can very much see the outrage he causes.

Grumpiness spreading around the forum tells me that Klitschko has dominated another opponent. Oh well.

The MTV generation in America wants to see quick fights, explosive highlight knockouts and movie-like figures, everything else is dull. Wlad does not produce these, nor is he a superhero fighting for the freedom of good old U S of A, thus he is not accepted.

However, it was the second time in row thaw Wlad sold out a 50,000+ football stadium. Who is the last heavyweight champion to do that. That, along with the millions of euros he made again, might comfort Wlad just a little bit in his deep sorrow for that HBO wasn't around

 

They were good fights, right? I mean, Ali hit Bonavena for 15 rounds...good fights, right?

Good video as it shows a small irate fella with a funky tracksuit and a towel in his hand berating a much bigger man. I don't know what Manny's issue is. He is Wlad's trainer, not his PR manager, not his press agent. His duty is to get Wlad from A to B in a safe fashion, not make sure he looks like King Kong en route.

Now, one area where I might give Manny lee-way is that he equates safety with the other fighter losing. The sooner the other guy is beaten, the sooner your fighter is out of danger.

Maybe that's what Manny is all about. But I don't know.

BTW, Emmanuel knew that Chambers was done and he wanted Wlad to pull the trigger. Wlad did and Chambers went bye-bye.

 

Couple things. For those that were attempting to do a round by round. Please go back and review Illu's round by round threads and take notes. Second good win by the much bigger man. Third that left hook was not a very devastating punch at all. I am pretty sure Eddie was hit by much harder shots then that during the course of the fight. I'll Holla 5000

I think it was the accumulation. I think Wlad probably got tired of hearing Manny scream at him and he said, "Fuggit, I'll put some body English on it", and Chambers---who had already eaten shots for almost 12 rounds---crumbled from accumulation.

Chambers schooled or slaughtered big tall softies to get where he did,...proving that if you don't have the heart and core strength to carry a large frame, it's much more of a burden than an advantage,..

 

Chambers might have been hit by harder shots.....but that left hook was something he didn't see coming. And he was bone tired by then.

 

It's ridiculous how much shit Wlad gets for the way his fights go. As if it's his fault these guys won't engage him. Damn that Wlad, hitting guys so hard they can only think of survival. Damn him all to hell!
