Well if he's like Curry he's clearly the best welter in the world today because Curry would have shit on Thurman, Garcia, Brook, and Porter. Spence actually DOES have style similarities to a prime Curry, only as a southpaw. Both aggressive counter punchers.
Brook is a more dangerous fight for Spence than Thurman is. Brook can crack with the right hand, and is a good counterpuncher. Plus Brook is taller and has longer arms than Thurman. As a Spence fan I'd be more worried about him in there with Brook. I'm VERY confident he'll beat the shit outta Thurman.
What a bum Camfort is. Barrera was a much better opponent than Camfort. Jermall Charlo has pop though and some talent. He's much better than his brother. For Christ sake, please make Jermall Charlo vs Julian Williams!
According to Spence, both Chris Algieri and Luis Collazo turned down fights with him. I believe it now more than ever before. These guys just don't want to face Spence. Algieri in particular would have been alright with me because he gave Khan a terrible time and it would have been a great opportunity for Spence to show us how he deals with a tall guy who can jab and move.
Agreed. And I would have LOVED to see it, that way the casuals can see that he'd give Amir Khan't a career ending beating too.
I have a feeling Spence's next fight will probably be against Kevin Bizier, who just beat the crap outta Fredrick Lawson a few weeks ago. The winner of such a matchup being in line to fight Brook.
That is very good news indeed. I'd be all for a Spence-Brook fight. And if Brook vacates and goes to 154 lbs, then let Spence-Bizier be for the vacant IBF belt.
Only question is can Spence take Brook's right hand. If he can, it doesn't end well for Brook as I don't think Brook can handle Spence's power and strength all night.
Yep. And I also think Spence's strength on the inside will negate any of Brook's attempted clinching. Brook's power and hand speed could be an issue. But your definitely right that if Spence adjusts to it and is able to take it, then yeah I don't see it ending well for Brook.
The Rios who stepped into the ring on Nov 7th was a bum himself. Don't go off names, go off what you actually see. The Barrera guy Spence smashed up last night was a respectable, rugged guy. As Neil said, Nancho isn't gonna train some COMPLETE bum.
