He sounds like he's as big a fuck up as the OTHER Chris Henry (NFL).

Whoa there Stinger. This was very much off the mark.

First of all, I sent you both that link as soon as the news broke. All PUG did was post the link here, he gave no comment or editorial. So by no means was he "judging" Chris.

Nobody had to be in Beaumont, the police were in Beaumont (Orange actually) and their report is where the newstories were built from, so as far as that goes it's on the original beat writers "judgment" for giving boxing a bad name.

I'm going to let your statement regarding doing favors for promoters stand on its own merit..

Apparently, Ross didn't want to take any chances with having to get into the ring with Henry. He went off and got mugged and shot just to make sure of it.

Before Joe Mesi was Buffalo's most famous professional boxer, it was Ross Thompson. But right not, Thompson is in another kind of fight. Buffalo police say the 35 year old was attacked, shot and stabbed early Sunday morning. The incident happened at 3:30am on East Delavan Ave. Police say Thompson faces surgery on Monday at ECMC.
Thompson has been a professional boxer since 1992, compiling a record of 27-13-2. He was scheduled to fight Thursday in Texas.
Thompson's most notable fight came in 2000, when he lost to Fernando Vargas in Las Vegas. That fight was for the IBF Light Heavyweight Title. His last prominent fight came in 2004, when he lost to Kelly Pavlik in Las Vegas.
In June of 2007, News 4 featured Thompson in a story from the Delavan-Grider Community Center. He was training young boxers who had shown the same potential as he did.
Police continue to investigate the attack.

police say the suspect resembles a bokeem woodbine looking motherfucker strung out on some dust.
