Floyd has bad hands. He'd request 18 oz gloves and a 55 foot ring.

As with anything, if an MMA guy gets his hands on a boxer it's game, set, match.

If an MMA fighter is dumb enough to stand and box with a skilled boxer (listening Ronda Rousey?) he gets his ass whupped.

 Look, I hate Floyd as much as the next sensible person, but he is one of the greatest boxers in history. He's stupidly fast, hideously difficult to hit, unpleasantly good at hitting people with punches they don't see and one of the smartest fuckers to lace 'em up. Ever. This cage fighting homo wouldn't get anywhere near him. Floyd hits him with something he doesn't see, the first time they are in range. Regardless of whether they are in a boxing ring or that daft cage thing.

You should familiarize yourself with MMA rules before talking about the subject. Conor could literally crawl to Floyd and grab his leg and floyd wont be able to do shit.

    Tis true.

MMA rules and world class MMA fighters are going to win 9 out of 10 times against boxers. The reason I bolded the world class part is that if they reached that level they're not dumb enough to stand with a superior striker even if they can use kicks. Circle, circle and take down. Easier said than done but, MMA is not a street fight.

Conor would absolutely stand with Floyd. Too much pride for takedowns. He stands with Floyd and knocks him out.

A Muay Thai guy like Buakaw would destroy Floyd in a cage, kicks would fuck him up. Floyd would never get in range for hands and would be TKO'd in a round.

If McGregor could employ similar kicks, PBF would be toast.

in mma? You would have to punch below your waist almost past your knees. Which means you will be reaching or have to get on the ground. If you reach, your arm is toast. The grounds, you will be done In seconds. In an mma fight, Floyd loses in minutes.

Of course, but that is too much knowledge for some of theses guys to handle. There are guys that would kick the fuck out of floods arms and legs. And Anyone with a decent teep would completely negate floyd standing.

Trust that he is laughing at you if you suggest Floyd wins a street fight or mma fight against a top fighter in mma

A good MMA guy beats a good boxer in a MMA fight that much is clear.

However, M&M does have a valid point.

Let's say you play soccer once a week. You have played it as a kid, now it is a hobby for you.

One day, Floyd Mayweather comes to your practice. I doubt he has ever played soccer. Is he useless there? Of course not, he would probably dominate your game with his movement, quickness and conditioning.

Or, you do thai boxing twice a week and end up in a street fight against Carmelo Anthony. In 98% certainty you are going to get your ass beat.

Skill is the most important thing when we compare athletes who are even close of being on similar level as athletes.

Lebron, Messi, Crosby etc would all be useless as players if they weren't athletes first and skillful after that.

Another aspect is that some sports are more natural than others. Soccer is natural for human, even if you have never done it at all you will know the basics. If you have never skated, you are useless in hockey how good an athlete you are.

A fact is that boxers are generally much better athletes than MMA guys. There are exceptions, but boxing has so much more practitioners that only the best and most committed ever make it to the top, even if we think that this era is poor (which it isn't).

As said before, fighting is also a natural sport. Even if Floyd has never wrestled, he will have an idea of what to do. He is not skilled in it, but he can take you down if you don't have the skill either.

It is not as if training grappling for two weeks will make you unbeatable

Let's create a fair ground here. In a MMA cage, where the Irish Hipster would feel comfortable, no kicks or takedowns allowed but using MMA gloves. Who wins?

In that scenario he whom they call the one named BOSS obviously sees Floyd easily winning. Since it basically is a boxing match in a cage.

Hate to burst your bubble but floyd is certainly not a tough guy. In a street or MMA fight I have no doubts he'd get his ass whupped. hell floyd does everything he can to avoid a fight when he's IN a fight. You've clearly bought into his BS talk.

I recall several years ago several of his family members said floyd going on about how many sreet fights he had etc is a bunch of bs. They said he's been a star boxer his entire life plus his dad and uncle had the street cred and THEY had tough reps (mainly floyd sr) so little floyd didn't have to fight. As great of a boxer as Ali was I'd feel a hell of a lot safer with Foreman or Frazier having my back. Those were tough guys who boxed.

Not that there's anything wrong with being a boxer and not being a guy who can scrap on the street. Floyd by the way he acts and his background doesn't strike me as a guy who'd strike fear in me if I ran up on him one on one. Of course that would never happen because he travels with four or five bodyguards.

Like Mike Tyson said, "He's a scared little man. He can't even take his kids to school by himself."

Thus...in a street fight floyd would get his ass whupped more times than you think.

What use is Floyd's shoulder roll when MacGregor has him on his back hammer fisting him to death?

I'm just saying that we can't assume that a trained boxer can only fight in the prize ring. That's ludicrous.

I'm not saying that Mayweather would be some bad man on the streets...I agree with your Ali Frazier Foreman point...and in the same fashion I'd sooner have a Maidana/ Provodnikov type as my backup in a street fight, however....just saying that to get to a boxer to be able to grab him isn't as easy as some of you are suggesting. Guys will be getting "lit up" long before they can get hands on him and by the time they do grab him they may be too beaten up to really capitalize on it.

Ronda was so beaten up by Holly's punches that by the time they got into a meaningful grapple she was ineffective. Yes...Holly is a more trained grappler than a Floyd would be....but everyone of us can grapple and wrestle to an extent

Ronda's grapple was not meaningless because of punches. That is complete bullshit

Again.....'The street' is as different to the octogon than it is to a ring. Grappling is some absolute last resort, emergency shit in your average self defense scenario

How about a thai clinch? Knees? Elbows? Do you people actually think Floyd knows how to "fight" ? If they had a street fight and ended up in a clinch Conor would bust him up. Floyd would be looking for a referee to separate them..

Lol. I don't care if you're prime Royce Gracie - ending up rolling on the ground in your average self defence scenario is the last thing you want

If you are prime royce gracie, rolling around as self defense is all he fucking knows. That being said, we are talking about a fight here, not self defense. We are talking about self offense.
