Honeyghan was also impressive in beating Blocker. Put it this way... I dont think Carr takes Curry even on a Curry OFF night. But I'll respect your opinion.
:: U Don't See Oba Carr BEATING the Same Version of Curry that Honeyghan Baet???...Granted, Carr DOESN'T Stop that Version of Curry, but he BEATS him N REED's Opinion.... REED:hammert:
No, cant see it. Honeyghan swarmed Curry, and threw Curry off his rhythm by hurting him. Carr didnt have that type of strength, and firepower, and I could never in a million years picture him outboxing Curry.
When it came to decisions, I think Whitaker was unlucky. He was robbed in the Ramirez first fight and Chavez fight, and some people make a case that he should have got the decision against DLH too.
can't feel too sorry for funeka now. he test positive for some banned substance so even had he beaten guzman, the title would've remained vacant.
The first guy who came into my head was Glen Johnson. He arguably won three fights against Woods, deserved a draw in the first Dawson fight and had Calzaghe pull out of two fights due to his fragile hands. MTF
He had a bad run up to 2004. He arguably lost to Tarver in their first fight but got the decision, so at least he got some payback.
This, 100%. And REED's post. I can't believe us three, and maybe just a couple of others see that he was blatantly faking it, and everyone else seems to think it was genuine, I mean really. I'm not sure if he's been mentioned but I would say Martinez is pretty unlucky. Didn't get any breaks or big fights until he was well into his 30's, which is odd for a guy of his caliber, maybe he's significantly better than he used to be, but the Martinez of today is clearly world class and legit. Plus he arguably won his last 2 fights, only to get a draw and a loss. I would say Funeka too. PS - Joony, what did Funeka take apparently? Or did it just say he failed a drugs test?
By the way, I have to agree with Xplosive about Carr. Decent, solid fighter, but nothing special. Competitive-ish with Oscar, Tito, Quartey, but was still beaten clearly, and didn't show anything that would lead me to believe he would be a champ in any other era. Is it a given that Cotto or Plastered up Plasterito would beat him? Yes. Plasterito sans plaster? No fucking way ::
