Mosley worries me though..he has a good right hand...and Cotto is a sucka for right hands..and it's been a WHILE since he fought a good fighter with a good right hand.....and the last few big fights have been against southpaws.

Not what I'm saying at all. But I didn't make any other assumption than Floyd beating Margarito.

That is all I said, and you still haven't given me a shred of shit that changes my opinion of that.

I never said he fought the best guys available in either weight class. But I will tell you this.

Moving up to 154 to face and beat Oscar De La Hoya is more impressive than ANY fight that he may have not fought before at 140 or 147.

I too am a guy that predicted that DLH would beat Floyd. I was wrong.

Cotto HAS proven LESS,..because he hasn't beaten anyone as big or as dangerous as Cintron and Clottey,.. Zab Judah,..is apparently, Cotto's best win,..coming off two losses,..... I guess this is why you said that Cotto has to prove less because of his popularity?, Zab is a midget scrub, and if Margarito chooses to fight Zab it's a walkout bout as far as I'm concerned, 3 fucking losses in a row is unacceptable.

 lol at Bumdomir beating Clottey,... Bowe "beat" Golota too.

i guess my question then is why didn't he fight any of those guys?

as far as Margarito, i think you under-estimate him. he's better than he looks. and there is a method to his madness. and a madness to his methods.

i mean imagine if ODH had just kept punching throughout the whole fight. he would've won going away. well guess what. Margarito is every bit capable of such a feat. and would've been even less discouraged against PBF than he was against a guy like Clottey or Williams.

and looping or not, the frequency with which he throws punches taxes defenses. it's just the law of averages.

factor in the fact that Margarito is 6' tall, and extremely ambidextrous, tireless and iron-chinned, and with the hunger of a contender, and it becomes a silly argument to say that Margarito isn't a threat to PBF.

Also, BTW, PBF's never had to deal with a guy like Cintron or Williams, guys who could lay back somewhat and use their height and long jabs. And factor in PBF's lack of power or ability to back those guys up, and it's hard to figure how those guys aren't threats either.

there's no shame in PBF skipping around divisions, picking the least threatening competition, and weighing his risk with his reward. but it's not what the best fighter in the world does. it just isn't. at least not by my definition.

Cotto has a better resume than Margarito...and that right Cotto doesn't need to prove as much as Margarito to get the BIG FIGHTS cause he has a big fan base and bring more $$$ than Margarito.

It is easy to say that all DLH had to do was keep punching.:eeeek:

If it were just that easy.

but it isn't that easy to keep punching when you know that you are facing a guy that is tremendously more fast, quick and accurate than you are.

DLH could still probably throw 75+ punches per round against most guys.

Floyd is EXTEMELY hard to hit, and EXTREMELY accurate with his shots.

That keeps alot of cats from fighting their normal style and workrate.

Did you watch the fight, Kauki? It's obvious, you didn't. Bladomir beat Clottey the same way Holy beat Tyson in the rematch. Relentless, iron-chinned pressure.
Baldomir simply pressured Clottey into quitting, and was way more impressive doing so, then Margarito, DESPITE the fact that Baldomir had two broken hands in that fight.

Damn, Clottey just won on Versus fights! Baldomir's legacy is through the roof, baby!   The first and last man to LEGITIMATELY beat Clottey.
I bet that Mexican pussy will keep avoiding the rematch now

Judah handles Clottey and Cinton with ease.....two undeserving bums, who never had a chance against, say, prime Baldomir.

I actually believe this one. I think Cotto will be dropped several times in this fight. IF he wins, he will have to really dig down inside himself and find something great. This will be a harder fight than Torres.

If Fraud scored that foul itchy referee for all of his fights, he'd be 0 - 39, for back twisting.

This thread is nothing but a PR lovefest. Fuck you Sex-None. Floyd is a Hall Of Famer who is still on top of his game. He'd easily outpoint Cotto, so shut the fuck up.

And Margarito would be 0-50 for his wide-ass pushes that masquerade as punches.....Isn't Margarito 0-50 right now anyway? The guy got his ass whupped by a fighter who "hasn't beaten anyone" (according to Margarito himself)  and he's actually right....Williams indeed hasn't beaten anyone ...

Judah... there ya go!!.... So ya think Margarito's next fight is his toughest test to date?.....Illuminati pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I haven't seen Quintana since, and Joel Julio (his best win) had to recieve a gift to defeat Cosme Rivera, (Zab Judah's bitch),..so basically, it's back to square one..

All hail Zab,.. he's amazing...I'm sure he'd do real well after a few crisp shots from a giant power puncher like Cintron.

Quintana beat Joel Julio easy..very easy. Unlike Margarito struggling and getting a gift decision vs. Clottey, then complaining about his wrist/elbow/fist/ankle all hurting....

Judah former linear welterweight champion....Margarito? NOTHING..a cry baby that lost to his sparring partner...9-3..

Here's some more examples of Margarito's illegal felonies.

1)Failing to engage and excessive running.
    2)Turning of the back.
    3)Forearm to the throat.
    4)Flicking of the elbow.
    5)Pushing/Palming of the opponent's head.
    6)Throwing child support to psychophants.

Probably lets see how the fight turns out....Just because Cotto,Bumdomir, Mayweather, Tszyu beat Judah doesn't mean Margarito will do the same...

Judah wasn't Cotto's toughest fight...it was his biggest most significant fight...Torres was a much tougher fight....

All we have to say about Margo is this:
    1) Failure to beat anyone of significance
    2) Failure to beat anyone of significance who hasn't been beaten by Baldomir before.

Wanna bet if Floyd was fighting Cotto you would say the same about Hatton being the most dangerous opponent. You can't honestly believe this with your boxing knowledge.

Cotto is extremely open when he attacks the body. He has not fought at the level Hatton has fought. He might have a better body attack than Hatton but he is not a better puncher. Cotto is headed towards better days but he has serious defensive liabilities right now and they have been shown. Hatton showed weakness against guys that are bigger than him. Floyd is not a very physical fighter. Hatton is a great match up against Floyd, he is better defensively than most people think and might even be as effective to the body as Cotto when Cotto's defensive liabilities are considered.

But "everyone" knows that Margarito is better than Baldimore... right?:dunno:

Apparently at least two people just know this fact and we should all accept it. The two people that know this are Double L and some guy named "Everyone."

I'd actually give Margarito a better chance of beating Floyd than I would Cotto. Cotto just doesn't have the size to beat Floyd. He'll pressure and pressure but in the end Floyd's defense will nulify too much of his offense. Also Floyd isn't a pussy who'll wilt to a body attack. Say what you will about the guy, but nobody in the sport trains harder than Floyd.

I actually first noticed decline in Roy when he fought Harmon, which was before the Gonzalez fight. The last fight of his true "prime" IMO is when he torched Hall. After that fight, I think he began to slowly decline.
