LOGICALLY, Cotto should win. He's young, in his prime, is a terrific puncher, accurate, hurts both head and body. Shane is silghtly past prime and is a stationary target nowadys (always was to a certain extent).

However..I, personally, lean towards Shane because of intangibles....

shane is still good and I'm still a fan but I just don't think he can beat the top guys anymore. if he keeps proving me wrong that's great. if he gets a divorce, even better.

Anymore shit like that when we're discussing potentially the best fight since Corrales-Castillo 1 and I'm closing this topic and banning everyone...including Steve Dave!

Why do you think that no-one is discussing PBF-Hatton in this thread then?

Because there's nothing to discuss. 90% think Floyd beats Hatton where as Mosley-Cotto is a lot more split. Mayweather-Hatton however will EASILY do better numbers and be a bigger fight.

Oh shut up, it's a matchup a lot of people want to see. Now it might be made and a few select dumbasses want to cry about it.

BTW- Yeah ODLH-Mayweather wasn't talked about at all. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with you?

:dunno: Mayweather vs. Hatton is not a good fight? i would've prefer Mayweather fights Cotto or Mosley before Hatton....though...

it's too winnable for PBF, for my taste.

i'd prefer he face a guy like Margarito or Williams.

There's just no fucking way Hatton is more winnable than margarito.

Marge is slow and plodding and 1 dimensional, he would get pot shotted the shit out of, just like Chico and so many others.

Have you seen how fucking quick hatton's feet are, and how quick he can cut off the ring and get in a fighter's face and land hard body shots etc? Whether he grapples or not, he's fast and strong, and applies near constant pressure.

For a quick recap, watch him demolish Castillo in his last fight, the guy that floyd went 24 competitive rounds with.

This is a good fight, I am looking forward to it, Hatton has the style to beat Floyd.

Exactly, what is Double L smoking? Margarito is relatively easy work for Floyd. If I were Double L I'd be GLAD Floyd is fighting Hatton.

Floyd cannot be knocked out at the moment. De La Hoya punches at least as hard as Margarito (probably harder) and is faster, bigger and he couldn't KO Floyd.

Margarito IS NOT winning a decision over Floyd. In fact the very assertion is comical.

I don't think Hatton beats Floyd either. I do however agree that he has a lot better chance than plodding ass Margarito did.

people continue to under-estimate Margarito's effectiveness. unlike ODH, he can fight 3 minutes of every round. he throws twice as many punches. and the fact that some of his shots are looping does not mean he can't land em. Margarito tricks you with his shots. he throws a lazy right hand and slams you with the left upper. he throws a left jab and a right hand to the body. he turns south-paw and throws a left upper-cut. and contrary to popular opinion, he does shorten his shots when he needs to.

he may not be the prettiest fighter, but he's way stronger than Hatton, more durable, hits harder, and is much bigger.

the things that Williams did to beat Margarito (absorbed his best shots on the chin, threw 100 punches a round, locked Margarito up on the inside), PBF simply wouldn't be able to do.

the other thing about Margarito that sets him apart from almost everyone else in and around his weight is his ability to throw punches moving forward. he need not be set at all to throw. and he can throw going back and forward. the importance of this against a fighter like PBF cannot be overstated (ODH, btw, couldn't or wouldn't do this).

the idea that Margarito is going to fall victim to the kind of schooling that Corrales did is stunningly wrong. Corrales barely threw a single jab in that fight. and he didn't throw one punch without setting his feet, and basically ringing a bell to say, "PBF I'm about to start throwing so if you're going to beat me to the punch, go ahead, if not it's probably a good time to move laterally out of the way."

I swear you said the same shit about Castillo and all of your favourite fighters.

All of that aint gonna mean SHIT, when he can't land a meanignful punch on the superior Mayweather. And you weren't saying this "Oscar can't fight for 3 minutes of every round" shit before Floyd fought him. In fact you were referencing the way Oscar destroyed Mayaorga by brutalizing him every minute of every round in his previous fight.

    Give me a break!

Agree 100 percent, I like Cotto to bust him up bad underneath, probably cracking his floating rib and getting Shane out of there if he stays in the trenches.
