Not necessarily staff. Nobody has EVER stopped Shane, the man can take a punch and he can fight till the very end. Cotto's job won't become easier at any point. Shane is going to fight him for the duration of the 12 rounds.

Vernon stopped him, first he hugged the ref for 20 seconds in the 2nd, then Mosley spat out his mouth piece in the 10th just like Chico, but there was no magic comeback for Shane, just more pain.

Yeah, but Shane also has zero bitch in him. Isn't a pussy, and isn't afraid of pressure. He also won't come in the fight with zero confidence like Judah. To say "it evens out" is to say Judah basically equals Mosley. That is an insult to Mosley. Correction, that is a big insult to Mosley. Judah, didn't even try. The fucker actually tries to spin a positive out of getting the crap beaten out of him while he basically just gave up.

bullshit, everyone gets used to zabs speed, and after the first few rounds he cant land shit, but maybe 2 punches a round, mosley is a better boxer then zab, more aggressive, and 1000 times more heart, did you see the first vargas fight, vargas took it to shanes body

AgReed. I'll like wise give you mine later as I don't know what it'll be yet. However I'll come up with something once Shane stops Cotto. The clock don't start ticking on the sig until the person posts it. Deal?

I ain't retarded. This is an obvious attempt to bait me.

However, if you are serious that just means you are retarded, and I mean that in the nicest possible way.

If history has taught us anything, it's that anyone can be stopped.

Shane has already shown (albeit in only one fight) that he can be hurt badly to both head and body.

Of course we know that Cotto is vulnerable also.

    "However"

Historically the young unbeaten potentially great fighter on his way up tends to beat the older exciting fighter who's on his way out..and so history favours Cotto in this one.

I'm still leaning towards Shane but I have to confess that Shane's all action speedy slick slugging style will catch up to him eventually, and this may very well be the fight. Cotto is a murderously accurate puncher who can hurt you with either hand and every single punch he throws. He wont have to look for Shane...Mosley'll be right in front of him.

For Shane to win, he HAS to catch Cotto in the first half of the fight and then finish him off....for as the fight wears on the young hungry powerful man will begin to break him down.

Trust the Sly on this one!

I'm not too excited about this fight.
We have a young prospect (Cotto is nothing, but the prospect at this time, beating Judah has never been anything but ordinary) and a past-his-prime has-been Mosley. Sure, it's an interesting fight, but imagine if both guys were in their prime.
Now, PBF-Hatton is much more intriguing match-up. Two undefeated lions in their prime, going at it full-force, mano-o-mano, none of that 35-year-old former has-been fighting a prospect crap.....

I hear you Hexy but it is time for Cotto to test his mettle. I think this is the perfect fight for him. He should be able to break Mosley down in the later rounds, Mosley can hit hard enough that Cotto knows he is there but he won't KO Cotto if Cotto does make a few more mistakes and gets nailed. People tend to forget that Mosley is not a real big puncher.

Great fight! :cheer: Cotto needs this fight and Mosley deserves it.

I hear you to an extent.
PBF-Hatton is the more SIGNIFICANT matchup: two undefeated lions in their primes.

But Cotto-Mosley is the best matchup, stylistically to be made in boxing. It is GUARANTEED fireworks!!!:eeeek:

i think the style of fighting is what people are calling exciting, not what a win will stand for, too come forward let your hands go fighters, versus captain clinch and sargent safety

    Agreed. Very good post.

This IS the perfect fight for Cotto at this stage of his career. It's time for him to take the "acid test" and Shane is INDEED a truth machine. You cannot beat Shane unless you are very good.

If Cotto does this...AND inside the distance, he goes into the stratosphere and a potential Mayweather-Cotto fight in 2008 will be bigger than De La Hoya-Mayweather.

    :bears:

P.S. I shall respond to the "Evolution" fuckery when I have a moment....:flip:

Before Cotto retires, he will KO Shane, DLH, Mayweather Jr, Hatton, and he'll go up and KO Taylor and retire as the ultimate legend.

Actually the more I think about it I'm officially picking Cotto by late stoppage after getting badly hurt early on.

    It'll be a CLASSIC!! :eeeek:

Mosley by KO! He won't be letting a wobbly Cotto off the hook like scared ass Zab did. He WILL hurt Cotto and when he does it's a wrap. I can't believe people are picking Cotto to stop Mosley. It ain't happening.

    Mosley KO 5

That could be they key to the fight fight there. We'll have to see what happens when/if Mosley lands a flush bomb on Cotto.
