Benn did hate how EUBANK carried on even if he didn't hate Eubank, per se.

Eubank sat at an angle for that signing, he said he couldn't look at Benn because Benn was "too wild" and that he had "no time for such men" and then he said he wanted "parliamentary decorum" or something and Benn audibly hissed with disgust.

In addition, Benn was being "advised" Ambrose Mendy who had weird ideas about Black Unity and general Black Power hotseshit and was putting notions in Benns head about how Eubank was some sort of a posh Tom who was too close to Whitey.

The photo is not edited. Eubank literally sat at an angle as if Benn wasn't there. Screenshot_20211224_161630.jpg

Unpopular opinion, but i think that toney, in the few minutes of their three part interviews, generated more animosity than Eubank and benn did during their multiple encounters

Yeah if you knew nothing about him and heard him talk most people would peg him as a fashion designer before a professional fighter.

The British Accent ISN'T Terribly Masculine as Is, but There's an Undeniable, and Particularly FEMININE Quality to Eubank's Speech and Mannerisms...

Dude's Fight Record and TOUGHNESS Speaks for Itself but He's Sooooo Overtly Feminine it's Distracting; Like a Guy PLAYING a Role or Something...Donald Curry's Considerably LESS Feminine, for Example...

Perhaps Eubank was Raised Around Females Predominantly, and Has a Lot of Feminine Role Models...

European accents tend to be more feminine, at least in french and english. Guess that living in colonies made people want to look tougher, since the conditions were a lot harsher than in euroland . I wonder if its the same for spanish and Portuguese

I think Benn's hatred of Eubank at the time was definitely genuine. Where as with Eubank he just knew how to push Benn's buttons and wind him up, but it wasn't personal for him.

I don't know too much about Eubank but does seem to act like his shit don't stink as if Benn was beneath him lol. I only watched the highlights on their fight but it looked like a bad stoppage. I'll have to watch the full fight later.

For sure it is with Spanish. They use lisps deliberately ffs. Some claim it sounds more "educated". To me it sounds effeminate to put it mildly.

Joe Frasier went to his grave with a hatred burning in his soul. Hard to blame him, really. Ali treated him appallingly.

In his book, Been absolutely tears into Eubanks. Proper character assassination job. And it is in those exact lines. How Eubanks denigrated boxing and considered it beneath him while taking a handsome living from it. It drive Benn nuts.

Like, I'm a huuuuuuge Nigel Benn fan and cheered like a lunatic for him to win that fight. I've never thought it an early stoppage. No-one has.

He said at the after dinner talk that he was struggling to stand up and was thankful it was stopped.

He was completely done. It was a hell of a fight. Both guys left nothing behind. Eubanks just had the chin required to weather Benn's attacks and the wherewithal to put the hurt on him needed to win the fight.

    Early stoppage my hole.

Decided for completeness to have another look at this. Eubanks lands a big shot and Benn basically loses his legs on his feet. Ships a few more shots and backs onto the ropes. Ref seperates them and he gets battered backwards with another big shot. Eubanks moves in and starts to tee off. Ref sensibly steps in.

Wonder if some people want to see fucking deaths in the ring if that's an 'early stoppage'. Benn was a punch away from a hospital trip.

    Likewise for REED...

Eubank Certainly Didn't FIGHT Effeminately; Stood in the Pocket w/Benn, Threw FEWER Jabs Than he Should've and Got the Better of Most Punching Exchanges "Early Doors", to the Surprise of MOST...

Nigel Benn Placed Himself on the American Boxing Radar By Virtue of DeWitt and Barkley...Chris Eubank ABSOLUTELY Placed Himself in the American Boxing Conscious By Virtue of Benn...

In REAL Time, w/This Being 1 Loss Nigel Benn, REED Thought the Stoppage was a Tad Premature, Admittedly....UNTIL He Heard Nigel's Post-Fight Interview, That Is...

Nigel was COOL w/It, Had Taken a LOT of Big Shots to That Point and Was HURT Several Times Prior to the Stoppage...Since Nigel Himself Didn't Make a Stink About It, REED Didn't Either...

I know. Mendy and Benn were fit to fucking pop. Closest they'd ever been to "Parliamentary Procedure" was the various Acts of Parliament they were routinely charged under.

Benn vs Eubank I and II are the UK version of Leonard vs Hearns I and II.

Hearns/Benn deserved to win the rematches, which came too late.

The first fights were role-reversals of a sort where the supposed puncher faded late.

Benn was allegedly 6lbs over on the day of the weigh in.

I put that down to "The Ambrose Mendy School of Management"

That he managed to go 10 hard competitive rounds at all is a mystery.
