Supposedly the catch weight is 170 lbs. In addition to naturally having doubts about Roy signing it, that just added a lot of more doubt in my mind. He hasn't been that light for a bout since 1996.
I hope to God you're not serious. If you can't appreciate the matchups we've already had and what the rest of the year has in store, then stick to the NFL because you're a TFK-type boxing fan.
If you can't have room for a match against two famous main stream fighters with a likely-hood for a KO, then you need to check yourself hypocrite :notallthere:
The proposed Roy-Tito fight would shortly follow that nice stretch. The whole year has been good so far with nice matchups and fights.
Let me translate this. PLEASE TITO DON'T KILL MY GOD. STAY RETIRED AND DON'T EXPOSE HIM THEN REED, BIGDAW, KENNETH BOUHAIRSE, AND ME WILL HAVE TO DRIVE OFF A CLIFF FROM THE SHAME . Tito is going to KO Roy.
the biggest question I have is. HOW DOES ANYBODY EVER GET ANY WORK DONE? Geez. all we do is post on these forums ::
Trinidad is retired and Roy Jones is hardly a mainstream attraction anymore. The last the mainstream has seen of either fighter, they were both on the wrong end of embarrassing losses - Roy losing his third straight and Trinidad losing every second of every round against Wright. As I said, to go from staging all of the quality matchups we've already witnessed (including the front runner for Fight of the Year earlier this month) and what lies ahead, to a $50-55 PPV show between two badly faded greats in a bout that will have zero impact in the grand scheme of things, is taking a giant step backwards. It's not a fight that boxing needs. If people want to purchase the PPV, then fine and dandy. I just won't be one of them.
Everyone who's says they are not buying this PPV is lying. I dont care how far off these fruits are from there primes, it's going to grab the publics interest PERIOD.
No, what I said is you're not a boxing fan if you can't appreciate the high level of quality of fights we've seen this year and will see in the very near future. You're the one that questioned me when I said boxing is enjoying a nice stretch run.
This will hurt what stretch and how? You make an assinine comment then have the audacity to say I am less of a boxing fan to watch a BOXING match :notallthere: ::
I will be more than happy to scan and post a copy of the DirecTV bill I receive for that billing cycle. This fight will not grace my TV screen.
That's how I see it too. And to add insult to injury, they're not even the same size. This fight is a forgone conclusion, some people's nostalgia prevents them from seeing the fight for what it is, a bad joke.
So you said I am not a boxing fan because I would watch Tito/Jones. You make no sense! I never commented on any other fights, again...make some sense! What is this thread about? One more time, MAKE SOME SENSE!!!!
Roy may have looked a bit faded against Hanshaw, but he sure didn't look shot. Hanshaw is a very good fighter and Roy beat him clearly.
