I miss the old days when almost everybody wore red Reyes gloves.

Not this "Advantage!!" "Winning!!" "Fighter!!"" "KO!!" "KNOCKDOWN"......"Lucky Cut!!" bullshit they all seem to heft.

What an incredibly shitty night at the fights!

The LONE exciting victory on the card was Adamas stopping Galarza.

Verdejo fight was boring, and Verdejo was totally unimpressive. The kid is officially going nowhere.

Shakur Stevenson put on a bore-a-thon and didnt let his hands go nearly enough.

The disgraceful Finn Tatli just came to lay down. Didnt even make a real attempt at winning.

    Then Khan quits...

    Great job, boxing. As always.

Luckily, I didnt pay too much for my seats, but I was sitting next to guys who flew in from the UK just to see their guy quit... I felt bad for them.

Khan saved himself from inevitable stoppage loss that was coming soon.

Khan just said, "I'm peeing the blood. Too bad, the fight was just getting interesting."

    LMAO!

If by interesting, you mean the beating was only gonna get worse.

Agreed. He wasn't having a bit of success before getting knocked cold like in some of his previous fights. He was losing every round and his face was very marked up. Didn't want any more of it.

Indeed. Verdejo looked really lousy. Stevenson and Shakur were impressive but not quite electrifying and their opponents were poor. The main event was a joke to begin with and of course the ending made it that much worse.

There has been some speculation that Khan and/or his corner weren't quite clear on the rules and were trying to milk a DQ. Not sure if there's any validity to that but it would have been a disgusting outcome.

I can see the narrative now. "I was starting to turn the right around and Crawford was feeling it. That's why he got dirty and hit me with an illegal blow".

Khan might get it wrong but not Hunter.

It wasn't even a DQ blow. Hit him on the leg.

The only thing getting turned around last night was Khan's head.

It's not Teofimo's fault that he didnt look spectacular.

The Finn was in survival mode from the opening bell, then found a nice spot to lay down from the body shot. He coulda gotten up, but he wanted out. So, not Lopez's fault.

But Shakur could have done more, and rightfully got booed by everyone in the crowd.. his hometown crowd, no less.

And yeah, Verdejo is going nowhere. Kid is a total bust.

Btw, Teofimo needs to move to 140. He looked huge in there, and the weight draining looked to have slowed him.

He's not ready for Loma yet, just move up.

Take the title from Mo Hooker or something.

Not putting blame on him, just replying to a comment about the quality and entertainment value of the card.

I do have to laugh at Teofimo somehow trying to make what he thinks was a statement by not watching Loma's last fight. Criticized the opponent and claimed it was irrelevant as he just went out and did what he was supposed to do.

Dude doesn't seem to understand irony.

Teofimo can punch like Hell, so he'd have a puncher's chance against Loma right now.. but only a puncher's chance.

He's still 1-2 years away from acquiring the polish to box with Loma. Which is fine, the kid is only 21.

Yeah, he cant fool experienced boxing fans. He can easily convince the casuals it was a nut shot... but every hardcore fan knows the difference.

    Amir quit.

I'm not gonna totally shit on him... he previously showed a lot of heart. But a man's heart just runs out eventually, it happens.

Amir knew what was coming. Virgil Hunter knew what was coming. Everyone watching knew what was coming.

Crawford was well on his way to beating him down for a late stoppage.

If Teofimo moves up, is he ready for a Taylor or Prograis yet? I would say not quite yet. Probably a year away from being ready for that level.

This fight seemed such a mismatch. Khan can't break a paper bag with his shots. Crawford could've killed him any time he wanted by the looks of it but was just keeping it going as if he wanted to get some rounds in.

Speed :D The guy has zero power. He's fluff. This fight could've been over in a round or 2 if Crawford went for it. Khan is garbage.

That's because Crawford is head and shoulders above anybody Khan has faced.

All this "But... but.. but he troubled Canelo before getting caught.."

Yeah, well, Crawford is better than Canelo. I think that's apparent to everybody besides Canelo dick riders and Crawford haters.

This is EXACTLY why the notion of Khan being a dangerous fight for Floyd was always comical. And that was a popular opinion at one point.

An all time great like Floyd can EASILY neutralize a retarded box bot like Khan.

And people may say "Well, Judah caused Floyd problems early."

I would say that 1. Judah was a southpaw. Floyd didnt deal as well against southpaws. 2. Judah was a dangerous puncher, so Floyd had to be careful.

Khan is conventional and never had dangerous power. He would have been an EXTREMELY easy fight for Floyd.

What's next for Crawford? Cause we know it ain't Spence.

I'm thinking Arum is ready to cash out Jose Ramirez. I think it was always Top Rank's plan to feed Ramirez to Crawford, which is why they kept Ramirez away from Prograis

Or Kell Brook. He Wasn’t Just There for Khan’s Sake.

We already know Spence's reaction if that gets made, "Feeding on my leftovers."

But seriously, Crawford versus a prime Brook would have been compelling, but Spence looks to have finished Brook.

With the combination of being shopworn, and having to make 147, Kell should be easy pickings for Kell.

On a side note - last night they showed Brook on the big screen, and the whole UK contingent was booing Brook.

A casual fan I had sitting next to me said, "Who's that?"

And me, being the obnoxious asshole I am towards casuals (and also being slightly tipsy) says out loud "Jesus fucking Christ!"

It would probably be Brook then. I don't see too many other options.
