ok what? you're gonna tell me that PBF fights like Ali? Or Holmes? I can't help with you that if that's what your mind tells you. But it's not true.

Thats great. Cos he was dismantling JMM and not letting him breath, so why was JMM kicking the shit out of him for so long?? It seems to me that Pac expends less going forward than he does going back. Forward, great stamina. Backwards, less so.

And, BTW...Hatton displayed great stamina in the Tszyu fight, but the best stamina he ever showed was in the Sucra Oliveira fight. Are you telling me he beat Sucra with clinching?? Watch that fight....and maybe the Phillips fight too. He clinches and rassels with better opponents cos he can't deal with them in some way shape or form. But if he can bully you, he will. Make no mistake, if Ricky has a choice, if he is given on, between punching and clinching, he'll punch. Its not like the guy clinches cos he doesn't have the gas to smack you.:nono:

And I admit...Fatton has been winded as of late, thanks to his tendency to frequent Burger King and such like. He is not innately deficient in stamina. He is innately deficient in out-of-the-ring discipline.

he boxes and moves in a similar fashion, he certianly fights more like them than JMM:laughing:

And I've said for awhile now that he fights like a right handed pernell whitaker, although there are differences, the attributes and approach is the same.

Double L, could JMM outbox Oscar level fighters at 140 and 147?

not really. Whitaker did almost everything off his jab. and a major part of his game was turning his opponent. and giving angles.

PBF, when he's not in with a 130 pounder who is shorter than him that he can bully with his fore-arm, hops around, pot-shotting. it's effective because he's good at forecasting his opponent's moves, and because he's fast enough that he can land without committing himself.

but he's not a boxer in the sense that he doesn't circle his opponent and set them up with a jab. he doesn't control the ring the way an Ali, or a Holmes did. he doesn't "box" you in. instead, he shoots and lunges. he basically plays keep away. shoot and run.

i'm not saying it's not effective. so let's remember the debate here. my claim is that by definition, JMM is a better "boxer" than PBF. it's a subjective matter to begin with, so there's no right or wrong answer (although you insist on acting as if there is).

There is a right and wrong answer. Floyd is a better boxer than JMM. Anyone who believes otherwise is wrong.

The real defensive wizards are Winky Wright or Joshua Clottey, both fighters who defend themselves with thier hands, instead of thier shoulder, back and brain-stem like Fraud.

is he nearly the size of PBF? Pacquiao can't. Does that mean he can't possibly be as good as PBF?

    That's why he said 140, not 154.

well, if JMM moved to 140, one thing's for sure, if he expected to keep winning, he'd have to limit his opponents to guys like Gatti, Corley and Brusseles. If he did that, then yeah. He could win fights there.

If I'm creating the "perfect fighter", I'd take James Toney and simply give him some more power and quicker feet. He's the closest thing to a technically perfect prizefighter around, IMO.

Right now, Cotto has the most heart (proven at least) and by quite a margin.

adaptability/versatility - Barrera - he seems to be able to tailor his approach to his opponents very well, being able to box and slug when necessary. i'd think this would be an important asset for a fighter who's not gonna be able to out-muscle every guy he fights.
