BS. They make a difference when the deduction makes the deductee feel he is being robbed. Cortez never warned Floyd for the repetitive forearms and elbows to the throat and face. But Ricky gets a point off for a "bunny punch" that didn't land----as Floyd turned his back and leaned out of the ring to escape an attack. Whatever.............
When Hatton is dirty, his haters cry. When his opponent is dirty, his fans cry. What is so weird about that?
Yep. If not for that single point deduction Ricky would have been quicker, a harder puncher, less tired and have had a bigger heart and better chin. Damn that Cortez.
What about Roid Jones Jr. An entire career built on steroids and still ended up sleeping in the ring TWICE! :: :kick:
Making stuff up in a debate never wins a debate. Floyd was warned, just didn't have any points taken.
Seriously! If it weren't for that point deduction Ricky would've dodged all those lead right hands, check hooks, and jabs that was hitting him in the face the whole night. Like I said before, it could have been Ricky's personal referee Mickey Vann in there and it wouldn't have made a difference.
Cortez whent to Mayweather's corner in between rounds and warned him about everything. Did you want him to slap him in the face too? About the point deduction: If you don't think Hatton deserved a point off for that, then you don't think that Barrera deserved a point off for pushing Hamed's head into the corner. I didn't read about this problem when Hatton low blowed Tszyu on purpose, in a fight where he was allowed to hold after every single Tszyu punch; I guess that's because he won, but maybe that's just me.
I think Cortez was a moot point.. either way Hatton was getting stopped. On the inside it really didn't seem like Hatton had the advantage anyway so Cortez was not hurting him by seperating.. I just wish he would not have grabbed Floyd at the end.. he should have let him tee off some more and really knock this bitch out cold or at least make him dance
