brutal ko. on paper, makes the ggg fight more interesting if it happens. i still expect a one-sided beating.

Like REED Said in his 1st Post, Stevens will Be THE STERNEST Test of GGG's Career, Thus Faaaaaaar...He's Going to Actually Hit him Back w/Something HARD & It'll Be Interesting to See What Happens...

What People Continue to Overlook is Stevens' Missteps Occurred @ 168...He'd Be Fighting GGG @ 160...He'll Also Be Coming Into this Fight EXTREMELY Confident, as Opposed to Some of the Sacrificial Lambs GGG's Fought...

GGG by KO, but it'll Be a WAR While it Lasts...

Problem is, Stevens hasn't fought anyone worth a while at 160 lbs. He may be a better fighter there than he was at smw (and he certainly looks so), but he's only fighting bums and no hopers. It's hard to take him seriously unless he beats someone decent.

BTW, Chambers being dominated by an average CW just shows once again how mediocre the hw are. Chambers is nothing yet he was able to make a name for himself by exploiting the lack of skills of these so called hw contenders.

i like when some bum nearly a decade deep in his career who hasnt beaten a single top 20 fighter in his entire career calls out a better, more proven fighter for a payday.

folks, i have decided to throw down the gauntlet and challenge Phil Ivey to a game of poker. his bitchass has been ducking me !

if stevens put up his own money and wasnt hoping to get a cash out ass whip from HBO im sure golovkin would have incentive to fight him also

That's mental, I didn't read about it at the time.

It sounds like he got straight up dominated by a 5'8 cruiserweight with 15 fights

You Say that as if GGG Possesses a GREAT Resume, Which he Doesn't....

As for Chambers, Yes, he was a WORLD CLASS Heavyweight...Now he's LOSING to Non-Descript Crusiers...PATHETIC...

i dunno whos available but stevens is not a top 10 middleweight. rubio, lee, geale barker winner, the guy with the braids quillin decked a million times. all better than stevens

Murray was the obvious choice, but he'S out because of visa issue afaik. Barker and Geale are fighting so both are out for GGG next fight. Rubio would be a fun fight but he has a title shot vs Chavez Jr. next so I doubt he's gonna pass it to fight an harder foe for less money. Best opponent I can think of would be Felix Sturm, but I highly doubt he'd take the fight.

Not to say that you are wrong necessarily, but it is very difficult to make such transformation to another weight class, even though Chambers didn't have to drop much weight. When you have fought for a decade being faster, shorter and slicker than your opponents, it is difficult to adapt a style when all these assets are removed. Chambers was forced to lead, which isn't his game at all, and the opponent with quicker fists easily picked him off. I doubt we'll see his opponent at heavyweight even though based on this result he should do well

    Exactly...

Of the REALISTIC Options, Curtis Stevens is the Best of the Lot, for GGG to Face Next...

Put GGG-Stevens on the Same HBO "Boxing After Dark" Telecast as Provodnikov-Alvarado & You'd have a VERY Entertaining Night of Fights...

I'd rather see Lemieux-Stevens. Both are in need of a name win and I figure network would be interested in it so it should be a makeable fight.

GGG is in need of big names imo. As you said yourself, his resume ain't really hot so he needs to fatten it up. Stevens doesn't do a lot for him right now, and while yes it would probably be a fun fight, a Sergio Mora would probably a more logical next step for him.

I watched about 2/3 of the 1st round of the chambers fight. The guy he was fighting looked good...sort of a left handed Montell Griffin. He wasn't afraid of Chambers and he appeared to have decent skills, but they were both sort of pecking when I shut it off. Chambers looked okay, too, but most pros look good after 2 minutes. Did he fade?

The South African was nicknamed rock, but he really didn't seem that big for a 5'8" 200 lb guy. He just seemed in shape and athletic.

Reed, why the nut-licking on Stevens and the hate for Golovkin? Stevens is no more than a fringe contender and Golovkin is a p4p-type guy.

Who's Nut Licking???...Who's Hating???...Does REED have a HISTORY of Propping Up Curtis Stevens, or Something???...REED's On Record Picking GGG by KO, in Case you Missed It...

Golovkin Might BECOME a P4P Type of Guy Eventually, but it's IMPOSSIBLE to Rank him as Such, Right Now...Beating Curtis Stevens WON'T Get him there Either, but @ Least Stevens is a Guy who WANTS the Fight (Unlike Most) & has a LEGITIMATE PUNCHER'S Chance...

Stevens Will ANSWER Some (Not All but SOME) of the Remaining Questions about GGG...

The MW division is at it's weakest state in years. This is actually something exciting to watch even though the talent level is not up there.

Comrade Hayavitch, you have been listening to rumour mongers. Heavyweight is weak, but we have full strength divisions operating in the field in all other sectors.
