Trust me man. If Page gets 1 million for that movie i would be FUCKING SHOCKED. Salaries are based on being established. Hell, someone like Michael Jai white i doubt gets paid 1million per movie. Page probably will get 500-785k for that role. He will use this movie to secure more money for other movies. You also have to realize that outside of the MMA fans, nobody really knows who Rampage is.
I'd say Rampage is easily taking home 1 million for the film. UFC is known around the world and Rampage is one the their biggest stars. The producers are definitely going to cash in on that. I can see why Dana is annoyed but the guy has to understand Rampage gotta eat. BTW Stiller was a [expletive] nobody before there's something about Mary.
I doubt it. Stiller was still a bigger movie star than Rampage. He had a resume. And he barely got 2 million. There is no point getting into it without the facts. I will just say its not common for a first time actor, who isnt even the star of the movie, to get a million dollars.
You can deal in hypotheticals all you want, I won't waste my time. And who said anything about White being benevolent or anything? I just stated, rightfully so, that Rampage's opportunity to be in a movie came from being if the UFC and more specifically TUF. TFK
regardless if he gets 500k, 1 million, or whatever. The upside to making 500k in a movie where there is no risk to your health and could create a whole new facet to your career is alot more desirable than getting paid between 200k and 500k risk your health and wellbeing in an MMA match. I know we all wanted to see the fight, but really, its a no-brainer.
exactly. When you don't get fighters to sign contracts, you are always leaving open the possibility for something like this to happen. Dana won't be making that mistake again.
why is dana bitching all about this? if anything, this could give the UFC exposure and shit. Vince loves when his men get film or tv time. That way he cross-promotes.
Not only that but his career as a fighter will have a whole new dimension added to it as well. I agree it is a no brainer, especially since Evans would probably beat him.
An active Rampage beats the breaks off of Evans. Rampage clearly has little motivation to fight and will be rusty as shit when he finally fights Rashad. This gives Rashad's shot at winning go from 0 to 50.
Brother, where did you pull Michael Jai White's name from? The dude is a certified nobody. I'd say more people know who Rampage is based on just his arrest awhile back. He was driving a truck with a huge picture of himself on it for crying out loud!
He's made more than that, but not in disclosed pay. His highest disclosed pay was 450K. A lot of main event fighters are also given a percentage of the PPV sales. He could have easily made over a million in his title winning fight and his title losing fight.
I dont think rampage is more known than Jai White. He was recently in a #1 movie "Why did I get Married" and soon he is coming out with Black Dynamite. Lets not forget Spawn, Universal Soldier 2, Exit Wounds, The Dark Night, Tyson. He is also going to star in the new Predator movie. Jai white is clearly a bigger star than Rampage.
Dude you used the name Jai White like he is a star. He isn't. Let's look at those films (aside from the #1 movie which I admit I didn't know about when I made my post): Spawn: Flop Uni Sol 2: Not the star - Flop Exit Wounds - Shithouse/Flop The Dark Knight - What did he have 5 total mins of screen time? People sure lined up to see him right? I'd wager the majority didn't even click who he was. Man his death scene was stupid too. Did he die from getting his cheek cut? Limp. Tyson - A made for TV movie? C'mon. Anyway this isn't all that relevant and I don't want to give the impression I'm hating on MJW so we'll just leave it at that. Like it or not, UFC is popular with the mainstream and I would definitely argue that makes Rampage more well known then MJW. At least until you throw the #1 movie into the equation.
Spawn wasnt a flop. That movie made 84 million dollars. That huge for an unknown like White. Exit wounds wasnt a flop. That movie made 80 million dollars and was the #1 movie at the box Office The Dark Night is not about people seing him its about him securing the role. You know how many people wanted in that movie? He got it. Plus you didnt even mention why did i get married which was #1 and he will soon be in why did i get married too, which im sure will be #1. He is also up for the new predator movie. Like it or not, more people know who this guy is than Rampage Jackson, who outside of the UFC and Pride, NOBODY knows.
How can anyone hate on Black Dynamite? Dont click on this trailer if you are at work. Its got Nudity in it. <object width="450" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.traileraddict.com/emd/7464"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.traileraddict.com/emd/7464" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" wmode="transparent" width="450" height="350" allowFullScreen="true"></embed></object>
Agree completely. Not to mention that Rampage could bring in all kinds of new fans to the UFC by being in a mainstream movie like the A-Team. Getting easy movie money is like hitting the jackpot. You have to be extremely near-sighted to blame anyone for choosing that over fighting for less money.
:: Michael's stock has just gone through the roof in my book... 'you going to wake up the rest of them bitches' :bears:
I didn't mention the number 1 movie because I didn't know about it. (I did admit that in my post). Anyway, I'll leave it there (again) as I don't want anyone to think I'm hating on MJW (too late).
