Maybe if you took the time to read the thread and address the real topic then maybe you'd become an asset to the forum rather than a cancer. The thread has turned into a bashing of Godfather's boxing fandom and yet another boxing vs mma thread. But the real point was about the flailing popularity of boxing in the US and what can be done to fix it. Luckily there are a few guys still around that are capable of more than just typical troll responses. And if you think the forum should be just for boxing, maybe you should cry a little more and get the MMA Forum closed....
I am huge MMA fan, but you can't honestly make a comment like that and still claim to be a big boxing fan. In my opinion anyway. I can't or didn't want to spell Maccaranelli.
He's an exciting, hard punching, very good looking, charismatic heavyweight. How good he is is really secondary, he ticks all the cross over boxes, apart perhaps from being American. He should be on front of every sports mag in the world. Most people haven't heard of him. Thats got to be a berometer to something.
Not a single post of mine in this thread is trolling. Have I ever asked if there's another forum out there to talk fights? You really need to learn to stop being so sensitive. This is the internet.
Says the guy that whined so hard that he ran TFK off. That's laughable dude. There is no bigger cry baby on here than you. "MMA is for fags"----Steve Dave giving an example of how not to troll...:laugh11:
Do you know what whining means? I speak my mind. And I give you guys a hard time because you're stupid enough to take me seriously in the MMA forum. Look, if TFK, who gave Petre hell for leaving the site under similar circumstances, wants to get into it with me he knows where to find me. I don't need his patsy calling me out for anything. If TFK was a real man, he would still be posting here.
The real topic has been addressed on here before, because not everybody in the GD waits for Dana White to comment on the sport before forming their opinions on boxing's problems (and potential solutions), or need a thread title like "Dana White on the current state of boxing" to post about them. But if all someone does is read the titles looking for a way to introduce MMA into the boxing forum, then yeah, they might've missed some of those discussions.
Yeah, doubt that's ever happened. But your whining and trolling in that forum is just tedious. At the end of the day, the site loses. Congrats.
Being a fan of both sports I think it's interesting to get White's take on the current state of boxing. He runs a very successful combat sport promotion and I'd love to hear what he thinks could solve boxing's issue. Certainly White's opinion is meaningless in the overall scheme of things, but it worthy of listening to by boxing fans or MMA fans. Just as I would find it entertaining to read Don King's opinion on the current state of MMA. The problem is that boxing fans are so defensive about MMA. It's almost an us versus them mentality. And the name Dana White gets people excited when it gets even close to the GD forum.
What, saying there are problems with the amateur system in the U.S. or that there are "fragmented" interests in the sport is new? Saying that boxing promoters don't do enough to develop boxers as ticket-sellers and gate attractions and that there isn't enough boxing on free television...these are things you didn't know until Dana White talked about them?
Never said I wasn't aware of these things. I listened to the video thinking White may have something new to offer. He didn't. And as I said, at the end of the day his comments are meaningless. But it would have been cool if he offered some silver bullet solution. He didn't but it was worth hoping for.
Yeah, Dana White's going to give free "silver-bullet" advice to "boxing". Of course, he did mention making Mayweather-Pacquiao...nobody in boxing has thought of that one yet.
So do you think Dana is lying and he really wants boxing to disappear? If someone asked me about how to solve boxing problems I would have given almost the same answers. They may be redundant answers, but that doesn't make them any less true.
They dont know man. If this was Freddie Roach saying this type of stuff it would be ok. But Its Dana white, its an issue. This shit isnt even about White or MMA or ME. Its about boxing. But its turned into a bash fest. With guys that i have respected for years calling me a liar. So who knows where to go from here.
What were his actual answers? Did he say "boxing" should put unification bouts on, or tournaments that feature champions and top contenders in each division or that the networks should stop paying large sums to spoon-feed "house" fighters, and make more competitive fights that fans want to see? Did he suggest that boxers should be fighting less in casinos and more in the cities and venues that allow a broader base of fans to attend boxing matches?
Haye is pretty ugly actually... And Trp And I have never heard of Macaroni in my life. Not even on BF...
Don't you know? that's only what I do apparently. :scratcher: He doesn't do that. Glad I was able to clarify that. ::
So the next time some boxing promoter chimes in about what's wrong with MMA then we can post that in the MMA section? Fill it full with posts about what's wrong with it and you guys won't get 'threatened'? When called out on our mma knowledge just quickly run to YouTube and watch a few fights? I don't think that would make for constructive debate. Kind of like what happened in this thread.
If generates a billion post like this thread, have at it brother. Seriously, if any boxing promoter has ANYTHING to say about MMA I would encourage you to post it in the MMA section. I'd love to see. But that's the difference. Fans of both sports aren't threatened like little girls sitting on a pervert's lap.
Nothing to be threatened by. The way the sport is run, hurts all fans. People should want to discuss how to fix it.
