Regardless.....if Haye were to face Wlad in the next year, he would get sooooo stretched.

:bears: :bears: I understand people's gripe, lets face it Karl most guys going up are not doing so on the basis of their pure power. But like you just said Haye is a puncher! He either will punch the other guys lights out, or not. I see him a player in a weak division. I could see him doing a Corrie Sanders to Vlad.

Well the thing is.... and I see the point you are makin'.....Most guys coming up were not pure punchers, they were really good boxers with enough power to make it work. Haye's situation is fairly unprecedented in this respect. He has the size, and worse case scenerio? So he loses to Vlad, not a big deal.

Heres the thing though it would be an interesting match up. I mean there is nothing on the horizon in that division! Its not like Margarito wanting to fight Cotto who could fight two other strong guys... Povtkin isn't a threat to Vlad! Sam is a threat.... That would be good also.

Vlad gets to duck all the punchers in the name of fairness, I don't buy it. Haye is right to call him out

Do it for the fans. The fucking Klits want to strangle the division with safety first fights against ammies and scrubs.... pitiful.

It would inject excitement for sure.

With the state of the division...I hope it happens. It won't but I hope it does.

But if it does,...within the year..Haye gets gutted.

Dude's got balls! Can't hate on that. If Haye manages to beat Klit, he might be able to single handedly save the heavyweight division. The guy has charisma and is exciting to watch - can his chin hold up?

Klitschko has been vulnerable to big punchers, the rest of the division is weak. Yes lets say Haye beats Vlad: One of the Eastern Euros could turn him into another Brewster by beating him on points, exposing his weaknesses, and that broke my heart with Lamont, but thats just the variety of different styles.

Don't get me wrong. I am rooting like hell for Haye. I would just like to see him do it right is all.

I think that if he takes his time....and grows accostomed to the weight class...he could be just what the division needs to raise the BAR for the Heavyweights.

I agree with the poster that said who else deserves the shot more, Peter, and that is it. Peter should get a shot, if then the winner fights Haye, sounds good to me.

With Manny Wlad only thrwos his right hand when he can't miss it. Otherwise it is glued in his temple. Since Ibragimov did a runner, Wlad never released it. If Haye will attack him, Wlad will throw that right hand bomb and it is good night for Haye.

Weird thing I noticed from these comments btw: people remember former lt. heavyweight and cruiserweight champions who have been able to compete at the top of heavyweights. Now we haven't seen them in years. To me that sounds kind of weird considering heavyweight division is the one that is in weak condition:dunno: I mean, shouldn't some smaller guy be able to take over now if ever?

Defining word being "almost", as he scored total of one victory over a top-10 challenger which was changed to a NC

Haye is under the illusion that he would be all over Wlad just like he was with Enzo - Wrong.

I'd love to see this fight happen and if it does I think Haye had better get those boot advertisements signed sealed and delivered asap.

Haye IMO has a real shot to stretch Wlad. Wlad seems to not have the best whiskers and Haye not only can punch but he's fast. the way Wlad takes forever to get going.. he might not get going in time and get laid out

That is true Haye can punch with the best of them at the moment and I wouldnt be that surprised to see Haye land some big shots - But I could also see Wlad using the jab to keep Haye at arms length.

Interesting fight lets hope it happens sooner rather than later.

bigger. And he's certainly right - he comes into the ring at 210-215 as is - Holy had to bulk up over years to even get to that stage. He'll easily come in at a RIPPED 220-225. In reality Haye's probably bigger than Chagaev, Ibragimov, Ruiz, Brewster and a bunch of other guys who've been successful at heavy in recent years.

It is funny how Haye is seen as a great puncher before facig even a half-legit heavyweight. He is a huge puncher for a cruiser but that doesn't prove he will look as demolishing againt bigger guys.

You are right of course and that is why I said Haye 'could land big shots'. But he is totally unproven at the weight.

At this present time the guy has great potential - thats all.

    That's how I feel.

I was amazed at ElTerrible's assumption that Haye would be a monster puncher at heavyweight.

He is a proper big puncher at 200 pounds no doubt, but is his power going to have the same effect against 240 pound heavyweights?

Possibly, but you certainly can't assume this is going to be the case.

He might turn out to be merely an average puncher at heavyweight, Povetkin type power.

I hope he KO's everyone though.

    London in da house yo.

According to your definition no guy that size could be competative, let alone advance among such bemoths as the Valuev aka the Cossack.... a man who hits so hard at 300 pounds he should decapitate Toney in a real fight.... Just look what he did to Ruiz!:eeeek: :notallthere:

And Peter the Nigerian nightmare a brutish modern version of efficiency that casts the outdated dempsey and tyson's of another era out the window.... He almost killed toney that first fight!:eeeek:

And Captian Raheime also known as Haseime the Rock..... Showed what a heavy on the cusp of modernity can do to a blown up cruiser when he almost killed Toney that fight, it was horrible for us old timers to watch that I tell you.:eeeek: :notallthere:
