Saw him fight Abraham. Abraham won. Also saw him fight Rubio. Rubio lost. Rubio is now fighting Lemieux, and steve_dave is all :bears: over it.

And did you see him knock out Daniel Santos too?

What? Reading American publications and realizing what trash they are?

The "Nope- read about" it response.

And "trash" seems an interesting way to describe your only basis of knowledge about Jantuah-Santos.

Trash is what Ring magazine is. It may be scant consolation, but the pertinent European publications don't pull up any trees either.

    So what if I didn't see Jantuah-Santos?? I saw Jantuah-Rubio and Jantuah-Abraham.

Does that make AA a "talentless scrub" because I didn't see a victim of AA beat a guy who himself beat Margarito?

You make this rather too easy.

Read about that in Boxing Monthly too. Those were the days- after-school or after-college trips to Easons in Dublin to leaf through the magz.

Jantuah was a fearsome puncher, reminded me a bit of 70's Philly middleweight terror Cyclone Hart.

Both tremendous hitters, but got hit a lot themselves and were flawed defensively, but if you gave them room and let them get set, it was lights out.

For a guy with only around a 50% KO ratio, Jantuah could definitely punch. It was a great left hook that flattened Rubio.

Last time I saw Jantuah fight, Kassim Ouma shut him out.

Yeah, I think it's safe to say most people on here shouldn't need to read more than a few of your posts - like the one below about Dmitry Pirog - to know you don't watch nearly as much boxing as you write about

I was checking out lemieux's record on boxrec and came upon two astonishing things. Andy lee is rated at 5. And James Kirkland is rated at 29. James Kirkland would beat both these guys back to back. Lemieux has decent handspeed and devastating power but he is completely untested......and Rubio ain't gonna change that one bit. Andy lee is skilled.....but should get away from hasbeen Steward immediately. Kirkland, despite his criminal past.... is the divisions PREMIER prospect for sure.

    Lemeuix would body Kirkland.

Lemeuix has better power than Kirkland, better handspeed, and MUCH better technique.

    You sound like Max Kellerman.

James Kirkland is a brutal KO waiting to happen.

I wouldn't be so sure about that.

They're actually very similar. Both aggressive, wild, with decent speed and average technique.

Speed and technique wise there isn't much to seperate them. Lemieux has slightly faster hands.

Lemieux is the harder puncher and Kirkland is REALLY hittable, so I'd pick Dave, but it would be a good fight, and Julio is better than anyone Dave has beaten.

I don't know if you can consider him a prospect, but Pirog has less fights than both these guys, and would give them both a one sided thrashing.

    You're a strange man, aren't you?

I might go because I go to Montreal often and I really enjoy live boxing. Relax. I don't like this fight much at all. Still, Lemieux is much better than AA.

That is because Boxrec has the worst rankings ever. There is only one useful thing on that site and that is fighter records.

Some of Rubio's body punching seemed to be paying off in the sixth...Lemieux slowing down a bit, Rubio getting some one-two's in.

Wow. I feel bad for him. This kind of reminds me of how Andy Lee got derailed. Hopefully Lemieux recovers.

As I said, Lemieux was an obvious hypejob. I doubt he's any better than sebastien demers.

He's the perfect definition of a can opener

If you haven't watched the ESPN3 online feed...this is a SPOILER...

Rubio landed a right hand (towards the side of the head) in the seventh that hurt Lemieux, who he fell backwards and slumped into the corner...with his hands on the ropes, the referee ruled it a knockdown.

Rubio followed up, landed some big punches, Lemieux's corner threw in the towel.
