"Granted, that kind of suspension for pot is silly, but if the rules say don't do it, you don't do it, period. If the rules say don't wear a blue hat, and you get fined and suspended because you continue to wear blue hats again and again, I have no pity for you, because silly as a no blue hat rule may be, it was still a rule." [It's silly, but....(and then you sound like an officious turd)....I have no pity for you.] [Rules are rules.] To me, that's being dense. The punishment should fit the offense and no amount of pot violations warrants 5 years. It's only magnified when you look at their kid gloves treatment of PEDs.
5 years was reduced from life. But yeah, he knew the consequences as this was not the first time. Plus i think there were other elements to his ban. Like the lying.
Again, my point isn't that the punishment is fitting the crime, my point was the commission makes the rules, and if he wants to fight, he has to abide by them. Many years ago while I was going to school, I worked for a short time for a company doing phone sales. One of the rules of the place was a dress code. I had to wear dress pants, a button down shirt and a tie. It was a retarded rule because everything was done by phone and customers never saw us. I could've been wearing nothing but a sombrero and a fake mustache, and nobody would've known, but we were required to wear a shirt and tie. Now if I showed up to work in jeans and a T-shirt, I probably would've been sent home. If I continued to do it, I eventually would've been fired, even though the dress code was silly, pointless and didn't effect my work in any way. But the company made the rules for me, not the other way around. And if I was dumb enough to keep breaking the rules, as silly as they are, I'd deserve whatever punishment was bestowed on me. But Diaz has always enjoyed being a victim. TFK
I hate rules like that. My last job in Florida had a dress code. Why should a software engineer who doesn't interact with customers be required to wear dress clothes? I wore uncomfortable clothes when I was there, then I found a job in California where no one cares what you wear. No one cares if you get high either, as long as you aren't high at work and you're doing your job well.
Problem is this really only applies to diaz since he continues to break the rule and continues to lie about it.
Did you see the Gomi fight? He was ranked as the #1 lightweight in the world until that fight. You'd think someone in the UFC would get a gogoplata win, at some point, out of all the great BJJ guys in the UFC.
It was very clear. It's a BS ban especially when guys who were caught taking PE's get off with a few months.
Right, i get it. But you mentioned the UFC. The NSAC came out with new rules regarding cheats just a few months ago. What does the UFC HAve to do with that?
I say it's not a PED. I've been getting high on weed and taking actual PEDs for years now. Weed for the last 19 years, steroids for the last 11. Getting high on marijuana, whether you smoke it or vape it or eat it, it's not a PED. It's a pleasant and indulgent feeling. One of the good things in life, like drinking a beer or having a glass of wine. It is not like injecting testosterone or other hormones that make you stronger as an athlete.
If the UFC had to pick one high profile lamb for the slaughter, who do you think that would be? I know you are not that naive but I also know that you would argue with the wall.
maybe there is a miscommunication somewhere. I still have absolutely no idea what you were talking about with regards to the UFC and this decision. The UFC has absolutely no say in this decision. Dana White has even come out and said that five years is harsh. Nick Diaz brings in a lot of money for the UFC. They don't want the guy sitting on the sidelines
The i-stubble. It's like an electric razor where you can adjust the length of the hair instead of shaving close. I always had problems with skin irritation from shaving. I haven't actually shaved since I got this a few years ago.
