What about that second offer Eanz?, he was offered the fight again which was turned down, his management nor Floyd referred to any strings attached to Arum's proposition,.. a while passes, and Goossen offers to rescue Fraud for his services with 8 million 'and 1 dollars' for Scrubdomir, the '1' sounding quite defensive and obviously referring to the Margarito perce which Floyd had already turned down twice. From the first and second offers, there was an array of defensive things done and said by Floyd and his associates, one of which saw Roger Mayweather make a suprise appearance at Margarito's post-fight press conference for the Gomez KO :dunno:, and he virtually tries to sabotage the occasion,.. an extraordinary measure,.. for a camp who wasn't defensive about the Margarito affair in any way?. There's alot of things that really do seem to allign Fraud with Arum's whistle-blowing comments regarding Floyd's outright refusal to ever consider any possibility of fighting his then stable-mate.

From some of the fights that I've been to where there's been that dichotomy afterwards between press/public opinion, I've found that usually the television cameras and announce crews (this seems especially the case with HBO's crew when Lampley's the lead) reward volume a lot more than views from ringside do, which tend to favor the harder/cleaner punches, sometimes even if there's a significant disparity in thrown/landed punches.

With the Iole prediction, a lot of people favored Gatti over Baldomir, as well, so if Iole wsa one of those who didn't think Margarito was all that much better than Baldomir, then I could see him seeing it that way.

With Williams, I have to say he's grown on me as a fighter (especially after his last performance). I'd watched him fomr ringside several times prior to the Margarito fight and I never really came away that impressed. His arm punching and lack of defense and non-existent head movement seemed like significnat drawbacks. But, he showed something different in the Quintana rematch. I just want to see him continue that.

Williams-Margarito II is probably the #1 fight in boxing I'd make at this point, though I wouldn't mind one more look at him before they fight again...but not if it means cupcakes for each of them.

He showed Quintana didn't have a great chin that's for sure. Other than that I'm not sure what you can learn about Williams from that one round.

I had never actually heard about the options, either.

Makes sense though. Paying $8 million to Mayweather to fight a relatively small name in the sport like Margarito is a big risk.

Didn't Goosen lose money on the Mayweather-Baldomir fight?

Im wondering about the second offer,.. because the first offer there was excuses like, "he's getting more money to fight Oscar" , "He turned it down to get out of top rank", ..etc, etc,... then Oscar moves his fight with Fraud to almost a year away, I think it's after the second proposition that Fraud was EXPOSED... there was alot of things to hide behind turning down the first offer,.. but the second one really confirmed what we all knew, that there was something terribley risky about fighting Margarito, and Fraud was not getting in there with him, ever.

considering you believe margarito wouldve defeated mayweather jr you must be impressed by his business decision to turn down the fight? losing to margarito (which you believe the result would have been) would have cost him 40 + million dollars

Well Fraud gave Judah a second chance on the account of boxing "being a business" and Judah being an overrated, but lucrative little nugget,.. I kind've figured Fraud would also come to believe that Oscar would have full emphasis on the amount the fight would con out of the public,.. I mean in Oscar, we're talking about a man who took a dive to recruit Hopkins to his franchise, I needn't even mention his fights with Steve Forbes and Manny Pacquioa, but you know what it's all about,..

and,... I'm not entirely sure about how a fight between Fraud and Margarito would go,..I mean if Fraud is able to get away with all that he does to defend himself during the most crucial moments against pressure fighters, then perhaps Margarito will be robbed on the account of Fraud pot shotting and running the clock out?... however... :crafty: if the referee takes away just 1 single component, the palming, forearm, elbowing, backtwisting, etc,.. then he's as good as dead..:crafty:...and Fraud knows it, that first Castillo fight was a nightmare for him, and in Margarito he's got a much larger, harder beast to elbow off of him.
