Did anyone else think Mosley might have beaten Cotto?

I scored it a clear win for Cotto, and the best I can see is 7-5 for Cotto.

I had it 7-4-1 and can clearly see 8-4 in favor of Miguel.

I'm a fan of both men.

To score it that way - especially with Mosley sweeping the late rounds - is to score against Cotto simply because he wasn't coming forward, and that is absolute nonsense.

I didn't see Cotto look very "gassed" at all in the later rounds. He did elect to conserve energy and box - but still responded to every Mosley punch and initiated plenty of combinations and single hard shots off the ropes.

I think he was protecting the lead and also his body as he was hurt there in the 10th.

But he elected to box - and did it quite effectively. As he has done in MANY other fights. He has a history of doing this, both early and late as appropriate or if needed.

His supposed "running" or "backpedaling" gets extremely exaggerated.

As for Mayweather-Hatton, I had it 6-3 at the time of the stoppage and I can clearly see 7-2.

Rounds were entertaining but Mayweather was in command, IMHO.

Again, simply because Hatton backed Mayweather into a corner or was trying to maul him against the ropes doesn't automatically mean he wins that round or exchange.

    Peace.

One of these days I would love for a core group of fightbeat members to get together and watch video tape together of these supposed controversial fights and everyone give their scorecard after every round and justify it to the other members.

It wouldn't matter. Judging is always going to be subjective. It's the nature of the task.

Or just sit down and watch a fight and do a really detailed round by round with scoring and the reason why you score it that way. Other members who have a copy of the fight can do the same and dispute it if they want.

    no!

But for the record...I would have picked Marquez and I would have picked Williams.

So I'd be 1-1 in those two fights.

Diaz-Diaz was discussed on the radio show and so i made a prediction.

by the way....it is a known fact on this site that the popular opinion around here is that you SUCK at making predictions. It's embarrasing in fact. And so you are in no position to criticize me or anyone else.

You have proven youself to know less that anyone else here, when it comes to analyzing styles, abilities and fights.

You should be honoured that I'm even entertaining a discussion with you. Chump.

I have yet to see the fight. It's sitting on my DVR recorder waiting to be watched, but I just never seem to have time.

Anyway, I just want to say I had 2 bets going for Shane. I lost but neither guy has come to me to collect. One of them I even came to him about me losing, and after telling me how close he thought the fight was he changed the subject. :dunno:

This is something I've thought of for several years but never tried it. Anyone could start it. Just name a thread "Rewatch so and so VS so and so" and everyone can rewatch it on their own time post their scores and why they scored it that way.

We should try this. :cheer: :cheer:

I didn't feel like thinking about a sig... too lazy. And I like Mosley, so I don't want you to have a sig that downgrades him... So... "I date Trannies." will do.

I heard Cotto shamelessly ran like a bitch, which in turn should give the Fraud - Cotto clash more incentive, the only bit of action you'll see is if they accidentally back in to each other, and I'll take Fraud in that collision, his back is well conditioned and implimented in every fight.

Well, Kauki picked Mosley to beat Cotto  that alone answers the question, posed by this thread.... There was basically no way Mosley could beat Cotto.

    I had it a draw.

I feel mosley pressed the fight in latter rounds and landed more punches. Cotto did get on his bicycle.

I did that for Mayweather-De La Hoya.

It wasn't very hard given the relatively low number of punches landed.
