R.I.P. He won the best fight I've ever seen live on TV. I'll never forget Corrales/Castillo 1. Rubio can't post here for the next five days.

29, with a kid (one on the way, young wife, and millions of dollars to spend during retirement... I tell you man, it's not fair.
REED just Heard the News on "Sporting News Radio"... DAMN,this is Sad... R.I.P. Chico...U were a Certified BADASS,Man... REED
It could be true, I don't know. I read an article about him not paying Goosen for training camps. But I never for one second thought he was flat out broke. That would be horrible after all the big money fights he's been in.
Apparently he didn't get to take home much of his last purse. I don't know.. the last year or so everything had fallen apart for Chico. According to Rafael, he was seperated from his wife. He didn't pay Goosen. Now he's dead.
I read a story about G signing Corrales and them giving him a 6 figure signing bonus so he could pay back taxes to the IRS. It ends up that he was still under contract to Gary Shaw and the contract was torn up by G. Shane Mosley the guy who recruited Corrales to G refused to sue for the bonus back and said trusted that Corrales "would pay it back when he could," after having Corrales sign a document promising that he would. That kind of leeway shows how cool Mosley and crew are.
I almost always cheered for the guy on the other side of the ring but he was always fun to watch, and having coincidentally watched corrales-garcia last night, he had high rewatchability value
R.I.P. Chico just wanted to add that some guys in here are really hipocritical - Some of whom criticised Rubio would probably :cheer: when the G-Man dies because beating a dog seems worse than his pregnant wife. I find it :notallthere: in both cases.
Damn, I wake up, and this was the first news I read. Horrible. Whatever issues and demons he had to deal with outside of the ring, he was probably THE bravest fighter of his generation. People (well, HBO and Michael Buffer) call Gatti the ultimate blood and guts warrior, but Chico did his thing far more consistently, and against a much higher level of competition. That's how I'll remember him. How ironic that he goes out on the two year anniversary of the first Castillo fight. R.I.P. Chico.
I didn't like Corrales much outside the ring, but then again nobodies a saint either. Also, I wasn't critical of Rubio in this thread, cause I probably would laugh at the G-Man. People have a right to feel and say what they will. I just simply posted RIP and left it at that.
Holy fucking shit, I don't know what to say. RIP Chico, one of my favourite fighters ever, and one of the truest and most courageous fighters I've ever seen.
I've always had harsh words for Chico, but this is truly sad. Corrales fought and lived hard and in the end, both caught up with him. R.I.P. Chico
Thats true. The only good thing i can take from his death is that i didn't have to see him die in the ring or live the rest of his life like G-Man.
I wasn't exactly adressing you and i think almost everyone deserves to R.I.P. and Corrales is one of them imo.
