Who wins? Without giving it a ton of thought, are these the two greatest Polish fighters ever? Anyway, I would take DM to win at 175, but Adamek wins at cruiserweight.
If Polish-Americans count, the answer is definitely Ketchel. But this is a good match-up, and I think Michalczewski takes it.
Yeah, his real name is something like Stanslaw Kiecal. Obviously growing up in Michigan, he just rolled with the English version. Both of his parents were from a village in Poland and moved to Michigan about six months before Stanley was born. Born to two Polish parents is pretty hard to argue. I'd definitely have him as the greatest Pole ever.
I was more trying to point out the fact that Poland has never produced a great. DM and Adamek were both quality fighters, but far from greats.
Yeah, but to be honest, there's not a ton of countries that produced greats. Even countries like canada or Germany, who produced tons of titlists and very good fighters, might not have a boxer that qualify as great. Edit: Langford for canada is definitely a great (and lewis should count as canadian), and some might consider schmeling a great, but you get the point
Germany produced Max Schmeling, which puts them a cut above Poland. But yeah, a lot of countries are lacking greats.
