Well Randy Couture is 44 and the champion of the UFC's heavyweight division. It would be great if Holyfield won a title.

And Hopkins is up there as well. Couture is REALLY impressive Hanzy. I mean those guys are in such good shape he really has it goin on to be able to compete. My stuff isn't like the MMA stuff but I can relate because if you are inflexible, or if you don't fall properly you can sustain some pretty intense injuries.

Yeah, the 90's bunch is looking better every year.

I dunno - I think Sultan's quick, heavy straight left is going to give Holy all sorts of problems.

    Peace.

    Pontificating, arrogant, elitist drivel.

    :tease:

    You're right...but like I said, can't help rooting for Holy a bit.

And again - Hopkins isn't far behind, and people root for him and this is rarely brought up.

Same for Foreman when he went for it.

    Peace.

    There's a difference between them.

Hopkins is still fighting at an elite level. He hasn't been embarassed by guys he would have crushed in his prime.

Foreman retired for a long time and basically had two careers. He wasn't "hanging around" like Holyfield has been.

Evander has looked sub-par (to put it mildly) for years already. Every loss comes with an excuse.

    True enough.

But one could argue it was the EPITOME of boxing embarrasment that a 45-year-old, overweight fighter who had been retired for TEN YEARS - came back to win the PARTIALLY UNIFIED heavyweight title...and right after a loss, no less.

Is it that dissimilar? Foreman was "embarrased" by Morrison and Holyfield...and by all rights should have lost to Schultz and Stewart arguably.

Is it that different, in the big scheme of things?

    Maybe not so much.

And how Foreman's accomplishment is looked at as historical in boxing.

    Peace.

Exactly. Foreman was not in the shape that Holly is in. That shows dedication for sure.

    SAD, yet TRUE...

The QUICKEST Way to Heavyweight UNIFICATION is thru Evander Holyfield...Yeah, REED Said It...

If Holy BEATS Ibragimov, ALL of the Current Beltholders would Stand In LINE for the Chance to Add a NAME of Holy's Magnitude & his Belt (Not to Mention what it Would Do for their WALLETS) to their Ledgers...

If Holy BEATS 1 or 2 Current Beltholders, then LOSES it to ANOTHER Beltholder, where's the HARM???...

The sad thing is, the only way Holy really calls it quits is by getting dominated badly.. I think Wlad right now could do it...

Yeah, but Hopkins best win in the last five years isn´t against Lou Savarese, although Hopkins could probably beat Lou.

Ignoring knowledge and indulging in echolocation.
Sultan would have knocked Lou Savarese out in 1 or 2 rounds, and I dont have any doubts about that, if Holyfield goes 6 rounds, I'll be suprised, Holyfield ...is simply not going to win, he's going to take a beating, and this unwarranted hype he's recieved after going the distance with Lou, is ridiculous, Holyfield wouldn't beat a genuine top 30 heavyweight, and NO Lou Savarese OR Fres Oquendo are not top 30 heavyweights  .

Holyfield is old and shot and other than shifting a few Real Deal Grilling Machines what good would come of him being a titleist? I know very little about Ibragimov, but anything has to better than Evan Fields continuing to embarrass the sport.

How the fook does he get a boxing licence anyway?

We are talking the heavyweight division as it stands presently. You really think any of these Eastern Euro guys are a lock to beat Holly? Maybe but I don't see it.

Certain steroids are designed to increase strength without adding bulk, like Winstrol. Further, controlled use of HGH doesn't cause weight gain; it's a popular "fountain of youth" drug for older men and women.
