Wlad is already the lineal champ but it seems that as long as Vitali is around and still winning, he can never be sold to the world as the BEST heavyweight.

Cinversely, Vitali "might" be the best, but can't be referred to as THE champ as long as Wlad keeps winning.

In a perfect world, one brother loses, and the other either avenges the loss, or loses to that same fighter, in which case the HVY has a definitive leader once and for all.

Beyond that, I'm fine with both continuing their dominance (though am rooting for Solis to score the upset in March)

Wladimir has easily the better resume of the two brothers- but anybody who spent a day in their life following the sport would know that he might well have his head taken off by his brother.

Likewise.........Vitali, for all his formidable reputation, lacks a formal seal of approval, despite being a former Ring Heavyweight Champion.

Now.......how much does Wladimirs perceived fallibility detract from his lineal credentials?

I would also ponder the necessity, this sudden necessity, for a unified heavyweight championship. It was fragmented from 1991/1992 to 1999. Then it quickly fragmented again- in no small part the fault of the incumbent champion, who would not face Ruiz and who would not rematch Klitschko- in fact his procrastination actually exacerbated the matter.

So......from 1986 to present, we have had what....8 years of Unity? Nobody ever really complained too heartily when Bowe started the trick with his binning of the titles.

 

Wow. I voted yes for two reasons:

The first was so that the Klits could stop being referred to as a single unit. Id rather one was dominant and other challengers held belts. It's not about hate but the simple fact that the two won't ever fight and champs not fighting each other is bad for boxing.

Second was to annoy Irish. I see SD has already done so and I needn't have bothered.

Before anyone goes off, I don't believe the brothers should each other but I do acknowledge that in the grand scheme, it amounts to the two best hws currently never facing each other.

 

That will happen when they both retire or when both are dead. Not until.

Tyson paid Lewis to go away. Bowe threw the belts in the bin. The division survived- even thrived.

I wouldn't be annoyed, regardless. sd, or SD as you call him, genuinely wants to see them beat, he doesn't like them, or the way they fight, said so himself.

Again, its not the first time in the history of the sport that the two best HW's have not fought each other and Christ knows they have better reason not to fight each other than Tyson did to avoid Lewis for 8 years or Bowe did for avoiding him forever.
