Martinez is 10 times the fighter scrubby, quitting Tszyu was :kidcool:

But yeah, I think Pavlik is better than Vic and Montiel, and Taylor is/was better than anyone Montiel or Vic have beaten. Plus Donaire dwarfed those 2. He was more like a natural bantam or super bantam boiling down to flyweight.

And for all the talk of Martinez being a leap amateur, there were times against Narvaez and Vazquez that Donaire absolutely looked the leap amateur. Wild, sloppy swings and lunges that missed by a mile, a real lack of thought and finesse in much of those bouts.

I don't want to seem like a Donaire hater, as I've always liked him, but now he's fighting guys his own size, it's clear he's very overrated.

Donaire has a real tactical battle on his hands in Nishioka

I think Nishioka is going to outbox him, and we'll see more wild, leap amateur style swings from a frustrated Donaire :kidcool:

Luckily for Donaire, he shares 122 with one guy even more overrated than he, the dirty rat Mares.

Chavez earned his biggest payday, $3 million guaranteed, while Martinez got $1.4 million plus a percentage of the pay-per-view sales.

Absolutely. I'd rather discuss this fight than why Pac - Mayweather isn't going to happen for the 5000th time.

C'mon, X...you're better than this. This is like something Stafford would say. Vito was definitely in decline at the time of the rematch.

I agree and thought it was just silly that Kellerman asked Martinez if he would be willing to give him a rematch. Seriously Max? For getting beat up 11 rounds and landing one clean shot in the last round that stunned Martinez.

Given that Chavez' will have a suspension for doping and Martinez is having surgery I think neither guy comes back untl next summer probably. Might as well do a stratight rematch.

As bad as Chavez looked and as little as he trained how can he not do better a second time around. It was a big jump in competition and he should learn from this.

Not sure if he will but I can see him doing better a second time around.

As far as Martinez a big reason he pushed so hard for this fight is because it was the only realistic payday he could get. The same case for the reamatch. He can forget about Floyd, Manny, or Cotto.

I don't think Junior is capable of learning from his mistakes.

Martinez simply got a little careless in there and gave Jr the opportunity to land some punches, yet for 11 rounds prior, "Junior couldn't do shit"(Roger Mayweather voice).

I think Maravilla would school him in similar fashion again without the 12th round mishap should there be a rematch.
