Says the guy who's going to be the subject of a future five part documentary series on Investigation Discovery.
I disagree about Stephen A Smith and I think most people who don’t like him either: A. Are just believing a mythological public narrative that he’s a know nothing blow hard, B. Have never actually listened to him regularly other than YouTube highlights either taken out of context or showing him making an overblown error/mistake. C. They’re judging him purely off of The First Take show. Take X for example who is a well known SAS hater. At the same time how can we take X serious when he’s also called Max Kellerman a saleout and Molly Qerim a bimbo. It sounds to me like X is just being overly negative and maybe just gets annoyed listening to sports personalities. I personally really enjoyed SAS’s radio show but as much as I love listening to him I can’t stand First Take and the way that show works. I just can’t listen to two people argue like that, especially when Max seems to often take an opposite or unpopular opinion for the sake of keeping the debate alive. Anyone who dislikes Stephen A obviously didn’t listen to his show regularly and are just going with the narrative because that guy always had good morals and was a straight shooter with everyone. If he’s so terrible he wouldn’t have gotten such a huge raise this year.
SAS got a raise because he generates ratings - that's ALLLLLLLLLLLL Disney/ESPN gives a shit about - they could care less about quality (I mean, look at Marvel movies...). He generates ratings because he's controversial. And he's intentionally controversial because he's a hack.
Another guy - very quiet off camera. I never heard him utter a word at The Final Four in Houston years back. All that stuff is put on for the cameras.
