Ive said many times before that theres NOBODY in history below 135 that beats Floyd. Just like theres nobody in history below 175 that beats a prime Roy.

At 130 Floyd would have beaten Chavez, Nelson, and Arguello IMO.

At 135, I'd favor Chavez, Duran, Whitaker, and Mosley (I know Sly will go crazy over that one) over him.

I see the old Oscar fight as an abberration.

Floyd gave Oscar too much respect on that night. In 10 fights...that would be the closest any of the fights between them would have been. And this is the point with Floyd...on his worst nights he still wins clearly...where with other greats on their bad nights they lose.

Anyway..Curry was a very talented Welterweight but not as good as Floyd and you better believe Floyd would have been able to hurt him. Curry had good Defense and good accuracy...but Floyd is superior in both categories and as such hits Curry more than he's hit in return.

You're insane. Mosley would have no shot.

Whitaker is a tough chessmatch for Floyd that could go either way with the judges (I tend to think the judges would favour Floyd's style though).

Chavez and Duran are competitive fights for Floyd but Mayweather beats Chavez pretty clear and Duran-Floyd is close.

The lightweight Mosley was a COMPLETELY different animal than the SHELL that Floyd beat up in May 2010.

Its like saying because Sloppy Joe dominated a shot Roy, he'd have done the same to a prime Roy.

Duran would have fucked Floyd up at lightweight. Looking at BOTH Floyd-Castillo fights (not the just the first one) I'd like for you to explain how Floyd beats Duran at lightweight.

Yeah but I can say Duran lost to Dejesus and say that Floyd is better than Dejesus...so bringing up the Castillo fights is foolishness.

It was this logic that had everyone picking Foreman to beat Ali. Bozos would have probably said: "Looking at BOTH Ali-Frazier and Ali-Norton fights (not the just the first ones) I'd like for you to explain how Ali beats Foreman".

Castillo fights nothing like duran. Different heights, reach way of throwing punches every damned thing. In the first Castillo fight, floyd fought with an injury. In the second he fought safe. Perhaps there was also a nuance in Castillo's style that bothered Floyd. Couldn't JUST be the fact that Castillo was a pressure fighter (as Ignorant fightbeat idiots seem to suggest) because last I checked Corrales was a pressure fighter, hatton was a pressure fighter...ya dig?

So we are left with Floyd vs Duran, mano a mano.

Floyd is taller than Duran, longer reach than Duran, faster hands than Duran, faster feet than Duran, more elusive than Duran, faster counterpuncher than Duran (not to say Duran was bad in any of those categories..he wasn't..but Floyd is superior in all). Stamina is a wash. Duran may have been busier...but Floyd has NEVER been tired at the end of a fight...which is the point. Floyd's lower workrate is almost irrelevant because...because...because...(you're gonna like this one)....

HE REDUCES THE PUNCH OUTPUT OF HIS OPPONENTS!!!!!

Duran's advantage over Floyd is power. Not much else.

    Agreed but so what??

Archie Moore of the Marciano fight was a completely different animal than the SHELL that Clay beat up. I ask: So fucking what?????????? Ali would have beaten the Moore of the Marciano fight as well.

Mosley couldn't have ever beaten Floyd. He would have been faster, better stamina....but the motherfucker was still not a boxer, was predictable, hittable and wasn't a counterpuncher.

    Different classes of fighter.

I'd pick all of those guys to lose to Floyd at 130 also.

At 135, I think Chavez, Duran, and Whitaker, edge Mayweather. But I'm not sure I would pick Mosley, honestly. Even though he's quicker at 135 and sharper in his youth, he's still a dumb fighter who didn't have anyone skillful at 135 to contend with.

I'm not even sure Mosley could beat Esteban DeJesus.

30 years ago the lightweights he fought would for the most part have been welterweights.

No way in hell Floyd loses to Shane at any weight, ever IMO. At the end of the day, even a prime Shane was still a one dimensional fighter.

Yeah, I can't see any Mosley beating Floyd. Floyd is too skilled and crafty, Shane too basic.

 at aberration. No Sly, Oscar just happens to be the biggest/best fighter of Floyd's career.

If Floyd fought better competition at 147+, there'd be plenty more "aberrations".

So Cotto, Margarito, Cintron would have been similar aberrations?

Word. And if Floyd had fought a prime Oscar it'd be a big 50 foot neon aberration.
