Fight for Donaire renews Top Rank-G rivalry

Arum said he has already filed a complaint with an arbiter in charge of handling their dispute with G.

â€œToday, we filed a complaint against Golden Boy with the arbitrator who has jurisdiction on the dispute between Golden Boy and Top Rank. The arbitrator will schedule the proceedings as quickly as possible so we can get a determination,â€ he said.

This is not the first time the two promotional firms are engaged in a legal battle.

If Top Rank did fuck Donaire around a bit and didn't do a great job promoting him, that's pretty stupid.

Although he's only a bantamweight, he's clearly the second best fighter in the world, and surely becomes more popular, especially if he moves up again.

I have no idea. I know it's going to wind up in a lawsuit. Top Rank is very confident that Donaire remains under contract. I have spoken to others who have seen his promotional contract who also believe Top Rank would win any suit. Golden Boy and Donaire obviously have a different opinion. We shall see. But count on one thing -- it will be ugly.

Arbiter Daniel Weinstein, a retired California Superior Court judge, ruled Monday that Golden Boy Promotions violated a previous agreement with Top Rank not to poach each other’s fighters when it signed Donaire, the World Boxing Council/World Boxing Organization bantamweight champion, to a promotional agreement on March 16.

I don't see Vazquez Jr on the level of the other four guys. I do agree with Arum, though, I don't see Donaire beating all 4 without a loss.
