broken hand or not its now clear donaire isnt even close to being on manny or floyds level. not just from this fight but also the narvaez fight. i overrated him big style. he was feasting on midgets.

cdogg will consider this blasphemy, but i think martinez is actually a better fighter. he is doing better against bigger, better opponents to put it simply.

    i admit, neilgro was right.

Donaire CLEARLY Won the Fight (Split Decision, REED's Ass), but it was his 2nd Consecutive LUKEWARM Performance...The Left Upper-Left Hook Combo was Pretty, but that was the ONLY "High" of the Fight...Vasquez was Somewhere btwn TACIT "Effort" & Survival Mode, but Donaire SHOULD have Looked Better, Injured Hand or Otherwise...

Is it just REED or did Donaire's Body Look a Bit SOFT???...REED Certainly HASN'T Lost Faith in Nonito, but he's Obviously Still ADJUSTING to Things Such as HYPE & EXPECTATIONS...

    The Power Simply WASN'T There @ 122 Tonight, Against a Guy w/PROVEN Vulnerabilities...C+ Performance...B- @ BEST...

Donaires hair is receding, he looked old and tired getting in the ring, his face busted up with the speed of somebody who has had a much harder career than he has had {suggests alcohol use} and he was only in with a guy who had a very limited game plan. I've heard he came all the way down from 140+ for this fight. Seems to be disinterested in boxing.

Something to keep in mind... Nonito's two best performances have came in his two biggest fights. I want to see more of him against top flight comp... Guys who will come to win.

Vasquez didn't come to win, but once he had survived the first three, he decided he would try it anyways. He got pinned in the corner in the third, and this pfp hero Donaire threw a bunch of punches, none of which landed, and then he got tagged by a left from Vazquez, and thats when Vazquez decided he might try to win this one after all. From that point out up to the critical knockdown in the 9th round, I had Vazquez more than competitive. He lost the 9th off the knockdown, and the 10th off the late flurry by Nonito, a lot of which missed the target.

From the 4th to the 10th, and even in the 12th, Vazquez was throwing more than enough leather and providing more than enough countering opportunities to give reason to Nonito to want, and be able, to get him out of there- but it went the distance
Several times Donaire was prancing about with his hands down, and several times we could see him consciously bring his right hand back up as Vazquez jabbed his eye into putty.

I think he wanted the KO and couldn't get it.

His hand was also pretty mangled. I just wonder if he fights to the level of his opposition.

Not with his face like that. That must have been painful, he would have tried to end it, and he did, but couldn't. I think he showed some flaws. He's too easy to hit. Guys can coast, I understand that, but they don't coast with bad swellings.

It wasn't a winning strategy but I think some credit has to go to Vazquez for his defensive effort. His own offense suffered as a result, but throughout he made it vrry difficult for Donaire to hit him.

One thing I can't stand is Donaire's stupid leaping right hands.

His leaping left hook is surgical, though. In the third, I felt he had missed that shot, then Double-U-Vay was wobbling all over the shop into the corner.
