I disagree. How many MW or SMW's do you know that are 5' 7" ? He might be able to carry that much weight, but he'd be David Tua.
agree and by his logic Hatton should fight at SMW or Middle because he weighs about 180 during his off time
I dont know I got to think some of that was due to the way he had to cut down in order to get to 140. Granted he has had only two fights at 147 but IMO he looks far healthier and maybe his chin holds well. It did for Chico when he moved to 135 as he took helacious leather against Castillo before dropping and took a fair amount of right hands against Freitas
he fought two feather-fisted guys at 147 and he hasn't fought a puncher since Torres nearly took his head off. we'll find out on saturday.
If Cotto gets caught... If Zab shows up focused... If Zab is in top shape... If Zab doesn't get caught first... If Cotto is chinny... A whole lotta if's in supporting Zab's chances.
Well, going into a fight there is always a lot of if's. I think a lot of those ifs are likely. Zab will show up at his best and he will land first more than likely.
Zab's a smaller/more talented version of Rahman. acutally that's sort of an insult to zab, but you get what i'm saying.
I'm saying, Zab's legacy seems to be one big IF. With most other top fighters, or at least threats to top fighters, you can give them a chance straight up. You don't have to say "IF the best version of Floyd shows up..." or "IF Manny Pacquiao remains focused...", etc. With Zab, it seems like you have to preface his chances with "If..." for every fight.
Zab seems to always do well early on in fights though. That's the only good thing I can say about Zab really.
Its said often, I know, but when a guy is going into a fight and people are picking him because 'he has a real punchers chance'...well, usually it doesn't end so well for that guy. Especially when the word "IF" comes out more than straight left, right hook or skills.
True but to me those are just excuses. I think Judah has always shown up to his big fights in good shape and ready to win. I think he has taken some of the smaller fights for granted,
A punchers chance is a good chance when the other guy has a so so chin, crap defense and is way slower. Granted the longer the fight goes on the more trouble Judah is in. I can;t see him taking Cotto's bodyshots at all::
REED is PICKING Cotto, yet Wouldn't Blame ANYBODY for BETTING on Zab... Despite what ANYBODY Says, this is Virtually a "Pick-Em" Fight N REED's Opinion... REED
Well, I'll be betting on this fight and will probably bet Cotto via KO and a small amount on Judah via KO. The odds on a Judah stoppage are a little too fat to pass up, IMO.
The Judah PR machine just keeps marching ahead. Judah is fast and Spinks has nothing to keep him off or him and Judah manages finally to KO Spinks after losing the first time. Cotto not only can keep Judah off of him, he can attack and hurt Judah. Here is the thing: If Judah was aggressive against people that hit back in any measure he would have hit mayweather after 3 rounds instead of running away when he started to get tagged... Judah is faster than Mayweather. When Cotto hits back how can anybody really think Judah will do anything more than wilt? When has this guy EVER done anything more than wilt against a live dog?
If Zab loses this fight you'll likely see me making a post about him moving back down in weight and I'm not talking about to 140 either. The guy has no buisness this high in weight for his size. It's the main reason losers like Baldomir have been able to defeat him. If Zab likes to occasionally coast on talent alone he can do that, but not if he's fighting 2 or 3 weight classes higher than he should be.
I agree. Judah may have taken some of his smaller fights for granted and performed poorly (Baldomir, Pineda), but Judah was well trained and prepared for his biggest fights in Kostya Tszyu and Floyd Mayweather. I against Cotto will not be what Judah did in the last couple months in training, it will be what he does if and when Cotto is able to adjust to Judah's speed and start landing good shots of his own.
Um, if Zab could make 135 he would fought at lightweight early in his career. But he didn't, I think even his pro debut was at 140. Zab is obviously not big, but he's a pretty solid, well muscled little guy. If he could make lightweight, he would have fought at lightweihgt, there was no monetary reason for him to be at 140.
