    He's spent his whole career there, he makes weight easy. He is truely a welterweight.

    Cotto is just a midget at welterweight.

    I think the argument wasn't exactly that Hatton was so much smaller than Mayweather...it's that he was less qualified a welterweight contender than many other top welterweights when the fight was made.

    Hatton's elite status topped out at 140. I think that was obvious when he fought Collazo...it was certainly obvious when Collazo then fought Mosley.

    Plainly put, Hatton wasn't as good a welterweight as Margarito, Cotto, Williams or Mosley...yet Maywather didn't fight any of them, he looked down in weight to fight Fatton.

    As it stands, Mayweather never defended his undisputed welterweight title against a top welterweight contender.
