What evidence is there that Hopkins has even the inclination to retire?

No matter how angles I look at this fight from I cannot see any way that BHop is gonna win.
Apart from putting the ref and all 3 judges in his pocket.
He is gonna make this such an ugly fight but Calzaghe will still be the one with his hand held up at the end of the fight.

people are saying that Hopkins will win by making it a dirty fight, and fouling etc :shit:

Precisely, this isn't about boxing, or watching a "great fight", Hopkins can bite, clinch, kick, squeal, nut-crush, and have the judges cards all rigged, it wont matter to Americans, Hopkins has to win, by any means neccesary, they'll just enjoy the 'symbolism', on a number of levels :crafty: .

"Bernard Hopkins claims his showdown with Joe Calzaghe could be his last fight.

Hopkins, 43, said: "I've nothing else to do.

There's nobody else to fight but Joe to bring this type of energy and motivation out of me."

Calzaghe has vowed to retire the light heavyweight king in Las Vegas in 11 days"

People, including Calzaghe, put so much emphasis on Hopkin's dirty tactics and ability to shut down people with his defense, but they may want to concentrate a little on the fact that Bernard can still put a little hurt on his opponents with his fist as well.

If Joe overlooks the fact that Bernard CAN hurt him with a straight right or left hook, he may find out the hard way.

Yeah I saw Calzaghe fight before and I've cheered for him on more than one occasion. Hopkins clearly took Calzaghe out of his normal fight range, he just didn't capitalize on it.

Joe...YOu would've been right even 3 years ago. Slappy is a bum and it would have been EASY work for a younger Hopkins.

Calzaghe would have been younger too... but I agree, after last night, I'm always going to feel like Hopkins would have won when both were on top of their games.

How the hell does that have any relevance to a prediction he had made for a fight NOW??

I'm not a big Calzaghe fan but I see he gets the same treatment as Hatton got pre-Mayweather.

"He's going to get beaten to death by Lacy you just watch! This is a mismatch!"

"Oh, well, Kessler will hammer him. Just wait and see, Kessler's too much for this guy."

"Uh, there's no way he can beat an old, crafty veteran like BHop. Easy work for Bernard. Just wait and see. Joe's in way over his head here."

    "Uh, well, um. He's a BUM! Yeah, that's it! He's a BUM!"

    :shit:
