I think it'd be better to move that to a new thread. Berlanga couldn't hold Ortiz or Chavez's spit bucket.
I think prime Ortiz would have been a harder stylistic matchup for Duran than Chavez would be. I don't think Chavez would have done much with Duran. That's not to say I think JCC gets blown out or stopped, but I don't think it would have been particularly close. Chavez thrived on being able to wear guys down with his body attack, physical strength, and stamina. Hard to do that with a guy who has him beat in all three of those areas, and against a guy who was MUCH faster and more dynamic than him.
If you take Pac, Floyd, Whitaker, and Chavez, all against a prime Duran at lightweight, and you ask which of the four has the poorest odds of beating Duran, the answer is easily Chavez.
