    Is awesome.

I watched the Peterdude fight yesterday, that I didn't catch at the time, and he looked excellent against a solid enough guy.

I wasn't sure about Spence at first, as he has a weird kind of style for an elite fighter, a bit awkward and spazzy - looping punches and a weird, wide stance - but the guy can just flat out fight.

Weird stance and looping punches aside, he has a lot going for him - chin, power, stamina, footwork, workrate, accuracy, timing, and good punch selection and variety.

He's not perfect - he's quite hittable and he's not particularly fast either, but he has a lot of legit attributes so he's going to be hard to beat IMO.

How highly do you rate him?

He's almost as talented as Jarrell Miller.

How do you think he'd do at 154? I used to think fairly well, but he's actually not that big. I was surprised he looked the same size as Peterdude. He's a slender 5'9, not particularly tall or built, even for the weight class.

Hurd and Charlo are way bigger.

I think he's the best in the division. One of the Charlos said Spence hit him harder than anyone he's ever fought or sparred. Spence has great power and is a super hard worker in the gym apparently.

I think he sodomizes Thurman. I think he beats Crawford, beats Danny

I was hoping that Spence could get his hands on Garcia, but there's a real possibility that Porter will beat him first.

Kind of how i see him thus far. He's not a bomber, but can certainly punch. Not a speed demon, but still fast. Not "slick" but can box.

In other words he's not great in any one particular category but has no obvious weakness.

Spence could move up in weight and thrash Clenelo. I truly believe that. His style would be horrible for the lil spurt fighting cheater.

I enjoyed the beating he gave to Eddie Hearn's squeaky chew-toy enormously.

The best 147 pounder since the 90s golden era.

He should move up to 154. Thurman won't fight him.

He's solid. Doesn't do anything wrong. He's no real weakness.
Not sure he'd have beaten a prime Mayweather though.

His PEAK weight was at 130lbs - 140lbs but the guy that faced Judah and Baldomir was still in his prime.

Using the Judah fight to support Floyd beating Spence is comical.

Prime Floyd from 130-140 was definitely a better fighter.

Floyd at 147 wasn't prime, for me.

I don't see how Spence hits Floyd more than he's hit in return...and that's what it'll come down to.

Obviously the reason I started this thread is because I like Spence a lot, he's now one of my favourite active fighters - he'll run through 147 and probably 154 too, size disadvantage or not.

But I would pick both prime Manny and Floyd to beat him. They're just too fast and sharp. Like I said, Spence has a LOT going for him, but defense and speed are not two of them. Pacquiao's speed and activity and mobility would beat him, and Floyd's speed and accuracy and defense would beat him.

147 pound version of Floyd I would give a chance a legit shot against Spence but I wouldn't make him the favorite in such a match up.

I can't see little Manny beating Spence, though. No way, no how. Spence's height and reach, plus strength would keep Manny off balance all night. And Spence is a good counter puncher in his own right.

Spence-Trinidad is a guaranteed classic, IMO. Would be a war, both hitting the canvas. Trinidad's superior power wins in the end, though.

Nothing involving Trinidad is a guaranteed classic. I thought De La Hoya -Trinidad was a guaranteed classic...and that fight was boring as fuck...and no...Oscar wasn't the only one to blame. Sometimes Trinidad was clueless in there and too pensive.

Trinidad wouldn't had to be pensive against Spence. Errol would come right at him and bring the fight to him.

Not necessarily. There would surely be more engagement than with Tito-Oscar but I don't think it's a given war breaks out. Spence has enough skill and ring smarts to avoid that which would obviously be to his benefit. I don't mean he can outbox Tito in the manner De La Hoya or Hopkins did, but I don't think Errol would "come right at" Trinidad constantly.

He's an animal in there. Think he's the best at 147.

But the talk about him being avoided are crazy. He has only established himself as a top fighter in the last year.

Anyone know if Spence is definitely 100% clean yet, re: year-round VADA testing?

Or even still, signed-up for VADA?
