I have listened to some radio shows out there, and this is the best one by far. I think the roundtable is set perfectly now, and hope we can continue with the same lineup that gives us "Texas, New York, and Canada." A geographic change in my life should occur in the near future, and we should be all that much better for it as we will really represent the Americas. Thanks to Carlos, Andrew, REED, and Sly last night it was a lot of fun. I don't think the language we use is as much cursing as it is "boxing and gym jargon" and even HBO allows that on their airwaves, so it is a good thing that adds a touch to authenticity and a big of a rough edge to the show.
First time I´m listening, really interesting to hear the voices behind the characters. Cupey should sell Sly as Lennox, he even says definitely. Not bad at all, even Karl sounds sane. ::
Good stuff, its good to have a core group but I reckon mixing it up with a few new faces keeps it interesting/novel...
I've love to have Jake on, but I'm sure he would send subliminal messages to our listeners...boxingscene...boxingscene...boxingscene ::
i liked the old radio show better they talked much more about lesser known fighters and you felt like they knew the sport very well anyone off the street can have these sort of discussions about the top fighters and common issues like steroids etc :dunno: ________ LovelyWendie99
Well we are just skimming the surface of the things we plan on doing. Just so you know, these shows have all been planned in about 15 minutes, hence, we have to keep the topics at this level. Things will continue to build Cupey
You should have a planned format and give each of the guests the questions in advance. That way, we dont have responses like "uhhhhhhhhhh" No offense Reed. I dont blame you or anyone else for that matter. But if you have a set of topics you are going to discuss, and everyone knows what will be discussed, each guests has about a week to prepare. Your show will be more professional that way. But considering what you all were dealing with, Great Job.
I'd agree with Jake that maybe we should have talked more about Diaz/Diaz and Holyfield/Sultan and less about Vargas/Mayorga... that fight could be discussed the week before it happens.
REED can See your Point, but on the Other Hand, the Show Comes Across More CONVERSATIONAL than REHEARSED, when Cupey DOESN'T Give Us Questions in Advance... On One Hand, we're Trying NOT to Speak Over Each Others Responses...On the Other Hand, U Wanna Answer the Questions as HONESTLY as Possible, yet U DON'T Wanna Regurgitate what Somebody Else JUST Said... REED would LIKE to Think that the BULK of his Responses Outweigh the Occasional "Uuuuh", but Maybe Not:dunno: ... REED is Still Working on the ACCENT he JUST Learned he Had... REED::
I understand what you are saying, but it comes across as a bunch of guys just yapping. All of you are knowledgable, but it doesnt always come through. Especially when you are searching your brains for answers. A nice plan with just some advance notice of what the topics will be will help a great deal. Another thing, the audio isnt that great. I realize your all on the phone. But the problem is that it sounds like you are all on the phone :: And yes Reed you have a slight accent. But dont work on it. Its you.
How much can you talk about Holyfeild and Sultan tho? It was an hour show. A lot was covered. You all did well. And What a prediction you had Andrew!! ::
That's about as good as it's going to get when you have 5 people on the phone. Sorry, this ain't IBM hahahahaha. And I don't think it comes off as just yapping because everyone adds some insight that I think people will enjoy. Still, thank you for your feedback. Cupey
