Maybe you are right. I also feel like lightening your load. your services as a moderator here are no longer required. Cupey
Are you really that much of a baby? Really? And you wonder why this place has fallen off like it has. I think it's painfully obvious to everyone here except you. TFK
now. I'm really that tired of my own moderators using a public form to voice their opinion of the owner. You are supposed to help maintain control, not help spin it out of control. cupey
Sorry Cupe, it is what it is. I'm not gonna lie just to tow the company line. This site isn't worth what you think it is, and when you act like you're acting now, you're just devaluing it even more. When you start threating to ban posters and stripping mod rights just because you don't like to hear the truth, you destroy what little integrity you and this site have left. TFK
well again, you are entitlted to your opinion. But those people that claim they care about the site should actually be interested in helping it sell and not shitting on everything. Now if google itself sells my site through the auction this whole places dissapears. My some organzing and trying to figure out how a group of people can take ownership of it would be helpful. To accept $350 is a joke. I received a check last mont for $275 from google from advertising for like 2-3 months withouth doing a damn thing on the site. Why would I accept $350. Again, ignorance is bliss. If you don't know about something you should talk about it. Cupey
That's exactly what I'm doing. If I were you, I'd jump on Noble's offer before he changes his mind. TFK
and for those people trying to make me look like a bad guy. Tell me this. I banned Jaws yesterday. One of the moderators unbanned him without even telling me. Did I say anything? Did I do anything? Nowhere would that be acceptable, because I'm the owner. And I did nothing. I've let you guys run this as you please and even overturn my decision without any intervention. So I find it appauling that you gentleman now turn me into this evil monster. I don't think so. Cupey
Well, I threw the number $350 out there. That's just what I am willing to contribute. That $350 includes what I should expect to get out of the site for that contribution and what I was willing to continue to contribute to the site. If others want to add to that number or buy out a larger percentage that's fine by me. I'm not interested in being the primary owner anyways. It might be fun to own a stake in the site in which the new crew would update it and continue to better it on a consistent basis. Cupey, you want to continue to own a part of the site, that is fine with me. I just want to make sure somebody else who is more flexible and committed to the site itself has majority control, the keys and the freedom to take the site to an entirely different level then it's at right now. I'm also not interested in just throwing my money away. This isn't a donation, it's an investment. Somebody reliable needs to be in charge of generating revenue.............through Google ads, banner advertising, whatever.......and deciding what gets put back into the growth of the site and what gets distributed to the various owners with a stake in the website. I would love to get somebody like Jake Donovan back on board at FightBeat. Might be a pipe dream by now but it's worth a shot.
Thanks for the Feeback NOBLE. If you want to own a part of it that would be good. I don't insist on owning any of it. But I would certainly be around to help make things easier. Yeah, we need someone that is good with google ads and all of that stuff. I don't even have it in the forums anymore so I'm missing out on a lot of revenue. So it's a start. With the right team and everyone chipping in something I think a forum run site with several owners is a great answer to the problem. I hope other people will come to some terms or jump onboard to try and help you, tfk, and others interested in the site to build it up again. C
FYI. When Godaddy creates the link for the auction I will place it here. I just hope one of those people that just buy domain names to sell them don't purchase the FB name or FB will simply become a link with advertising :shit:
it's smart only financially Joe. It's not in the best interest of the site. Still it's an alternative I have to pursue. Cupey
That's what counts though. If it was a few years ago, I'd probably hope you would have sold it to members instead. You have to maximize the profit now. I wish you were selling when I was living in Vegas. The press passes would have been worth it alone.
Noble, I'm willing to pay the same. That would give us the majority shareholding. Cupey can stay around and help with the transitional period. Godfather are you in ?
Ok. If we can get a group of Fightbeat investors, I'll invest $100 into it. In return I want passes to any MMA event in my area that can be procured. I will submit occasional MMA pieces for the Main Page and will continue to moderate the MMA Forum. TFK
Guys, I'll be busy for most of the rest of the day but I'll check in every once in awhile to see what's up. I've also heard from Mitchell Kane who offered to buy in also. Looks like we can easily match Cupey's buy price with the other offers that have been offered in this thread. The tough job will be putting it all together to the satisfaction of everybody involved. The money is the easy part. I would be perfectly happy offering percentage ownership positions to certain people for their contributions to the website without having them put up any money of their own. We would just need assurances of what they would be willing to contribute (as far as their time and resources) and how consistent they might be with these contributions.
You guys just gave Cupey options. He can jack up the minimum bid on the site now. Then if no one buys it, he can come back here and sell it to you.:cheer:
I'm not a real MMA fan at this point but I think it's a good idea to incorporate it into the site if we really want to make this financially viable. I really would like Steve_Dave to chime in since he apparently has the papers from Cupey already. I know Steve_Dave isn't a big MMA fan either but the site doesn't have to become an MMA Site. We could branch it off into two completely different interlinked sections if we want using a subdomain. We could even spark a rivalry between the boxing site and the MMA site if we want. Nothing to drive traffic better then a good old fashioned rivalry. I think we can assign one person, hopefully with experience to do nothing more then procure press passes for the various contributers. We also have enough foriegn contributers just to this forum we can hopefully branch out to the European and Australian markets. I might be talking completely out of my ass here but this is kind of exciting. This is the easy part though. We need somebody to take the reigns.
Whoever buys this site and keeps it going will get ten bucks from me:bears: Also, I'll be voluntare to write a review of Valouev's fights and other heavyweight events that nobody else give damn about. I am serious
its exciting a little bit each time, and has diminshed. Should hell freeze over and this get done, this place will rebound in a hurry
If this is something you guys want to do then i will be hear. I know andrew will be here. But im telling you guys this shit wont be that easy with three owners. Especially from all over the world. Dont just make quick decisions. Find out the montly costs for the server. Find out how much will it coast to update this forum (its very outdated) Find out the Google add cituation from not only cupey but Google themselves FInd out if Cupey still wants ANY part of this place. If so, How much. (that could be a deal breaker in itself) Also, if does happen, i recommend making it a Boxing/MMA board. Utilize the name fightbeat. I have a ideas how to the change the homepage completely.
I'm definitely not rushing into it Godfather. This is all hypothetical right now. With the multiple owners I'm just trying to think of a way to keep people invested in the success of the site. One owner and a bunch of volunteers working for a website won't work IMO. There's not going to be a lot of payroll to go around so a collective seems like the best way to keep people focused towards the success of the site.
actually no papers are really necessary since Godaddy will handle the entire transaction through paypal or something like that, unless you want to do it direct. I don't need ownership in the site. What for? I think people will simply hate me for being around. I'll be here to post like anybody else. The only requests I would make would be to please post myself Joe Rein and Jake Donovan as founders to the site and that I occassionaly be allowed to help out with articles, interviews, and things like that. Obviously I will help with the transition. If you can get a forum expert with a little bit of technical skill that will help you place the google ads on the forums. I know Mexican Wedding Shirt was interested in helping out too. I think the price is right if maybe 3-4 guys jump in because the invest is relatively low. I mean $225 per person? You'll get that back in the first set of press passes you receive! Cupey
