Thurman is really living up to the "Run Time" nickname. Why didn't he fight more aggressively down the stretch against a guy who didn't seem able to hurt him?? He'd have his track shoes on if he ever fought either Spence or Brook.
I actually think the fight has good rewatch value. There were a lot of exchanges with both guys landing shots simultaneously - those are the fights you like to watch again and again and find new things each time.
It would have had replay value if the championship rounds would have had a more climactic finish. But I wasn't impressed with how he ran out the clock in the end. Fight was indeed boring.
the early rounds were decent to good, but the latter rounds weren't very interesting. It was not as bad as some claim it was, but it's not necessarly the kind of fight i'd want to watch again and again
The Opening Round was VERY Good, but that was Literally the HIGH Point of the Entire Fight...Round 1 Seemed to FORESHADOW Excitement to Come, but that Didn't End Up Panning Out... REED:mj:
After the first round I thought Danny Gift might not be able to handle Thurman's firepower all night. But Thurman went from George Foreman mode to Yuri Foreman mode after awhile. If Garcia wasn't a lead footed mummy he coulda won... but he is. Garcia's feet are so slow, he makes Canelo's footspeed seem like a young Roy's by comparison.
Thurman-Garcia PEAKED @ 5.1million Viewers and AVERAGED 3.74million... http://www.boxingscene.com/thurman-garcia-fight-peaked-51m-viewers-averaged-374m--114381 REED:dan2:
5.1 is pretty good. surprised it peaked in round 12. you would guess somewhere between rounds 1-6 before thurman took his foot off the gas. i still think spence's last fight had higher ratings after the olympic basketball gold medal game
